In Skellefteå municipality, we work together across borders, in a work culture characterized by an unusually strong belief in the future. We are now looking for support assistants/support staff who want to join a team where we work primarily for others but also for each other.

Villagatan 23 is a service residence located in central Skellefteå. The residence houses 15 individuals with varying disabilities. The accommodation is currently undergoing a transformation from being a service residence within social psychiatry to becoming an LSS residence instead. The work involves shifts during the day, evening, weekends, and sleeping night shifts. Staff create their own schedules and are currently scheduled for three weekends out of eight. Our goal is to provide those living here with opportunities for participation, choice, and independence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

With knowledge of physical, mental, and intellectual disabilities, you will meet, support, and assist individuals based on their wishes and needs in a varied and professional manner.

As a support assistant/support staff, you will support and motivate users to strengthen and maintain their abilities. We work to improve the conditions for participation in everyday life. The work is based on established implementation plans and goals. As staff, you should stimulate and safeguard the person's participation and self-determination in the planning of interventions and activities.

The work also involves collaboration with relatives, resource persons, and other work groups. We work both with implementation planning and ongoing documentation in daily work.

Villagatan is currently undergoing the transformation to an LSS residence. As part of our team, you will be involved in this development and are expected to actively participate in shaping and adapting the operations to the new conditions. This means that, in addition to providing care and support to our residents, you will also play a key role in creating and developing the future operations.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with knowledge and understanding of intellectual and physical disabilities. A high school education in care and nursing or the child and leisure program with a focus on individuals with special needs or other relevant education is an advantage.

In your work, you have a health-promoting approach and see the healthy by utilizing and developing the person's abilities. We value experience in working with pedagogical methods, such as clarifying working methods to visually and communicatively adapt the environment and information to the individual's needs.

As a person, you are structured and skilled at organizing and planning your work. You enjoy being part of a change process, thinking creatively, and contributing to development and innovation within the organization. Furthermore, you are stable in your role and have the ability to remain calm even in stressful situations. You are considerate, enjoy working in a team, and have a strong drive to collaborate effectively and positively.

You have sufficient communicative ability in Swedish to adapt, understand, and communicate based on the individual's conditions. For support staff, a passing grade in basic Swedish or Swedish as a second language is required, and for support assistants, a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 is required. Remember to attach the grade with your application.

Skellefteå municipality is a Finnish and Sámi administrative municipality. It is therefore an advantage if you can speak Finnish or Sámi. If you can also use sign language, we see it as an asset in our operations.

In this recruitment, you do not need to attach a personal letter. The letter will be replaced by questions that you will answer in the application. Tests will be used as part of this recruitment process.

OTHER

The staff of the social office provides care, support, and assistance to people throughout Skellefteå. They may be elderly, individuals with physical or mental disabilities, or individuals and families in need of special support for a period.

Our operations are located throughout the municipality, and we have specialists in several areas of care, support, nutrition, and activation for individuals with disabilities, addiction treatment, family counseling, and much more. With empathy, knowledge, and commitment, the social office contributes to creating a Skellefteå where everyone has a place.
