Temporary Social Worker Positions Available
Stockholm – our capital city filled with millions of dreams, expectations, and ambitions. We work for everyone living here today and in the future. Now we are looking for you who want to think big, new, and differently with us – for the people of Stockholm.
Do you want to make a difference in the daily lives of Stockholmers and work in an exciting and growing district? With us, you will develop and grow with the task. We are working to find new innovative ways of working for a healthy and meaningful aging. To support this, we have an innovation center with advanced welfare technology within care and support. Together we work to be a district in a safe city to grow up, live, and age in.
About the Position
We are now looking for 2-4 temporary social workers who can work full-time from June to August. We would like you to start working part-time already in the spring. This gives us the opportunity to provide you with a thorough introduction well in advance of starting full-time.
Welcome to Us
The Elderly Unit consists of 35 employees distributed among social workers, elderly coordinators, method developers, and managers. Here, men and women work with a wide range of ages and experiences. With us, you will have wonderful colleagues who enjoy their work. We help each other and care for a good working environment. We have a purposeful organizational structure where the majority of social workers have a clear case responsibility based on geographical division. We have a group of three social workers, without their own case responsibility, who provide support during absences and work peaks. Within the department, there is a newly established unit for economics and administration, which provides support in the financial processes related to case handling.
Our office premises are located in the Slakthus area, near Globen.
Your Role as a Temporary Social Worker
As a social worker in elderly care, your main tasks will be to investigate and assess applications received from individuals over 65 regarding services such as home care, day activities, and special housing forms. The work includes updating cases, gathering information, making assessments, making decisions, and following up on services according to the Social Services Act. Your work as a social worker is significant and multifaceted as you will work in dialogue with the elderly to find a solution for the individual. In your work, you will collaborate with both colleagues in the city and external partners.
Your Competence and Experience
You have completed or are in the process of completing a degree in social work or another higher education that is deemed equivalent by the employer, and we prefer that you are in the final stages of your education.
It is advantageous if you have completed your practical training (VFU) within public authority work with the elderly target group and if you have experience from Stockholm's city umbrella system. It is also beneficial if you have previous experience in social work and have worked with the elderly target group.
As social workers often meet people in crisis and with complex life situations, it is important that you can see opportunities, convey hope, and meet people in a respectful manner.
You work independently and in a structured way by planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work well. You are flexible and can easily adapt when the work requires it. You are relationship-building and have a good ability to establish contact with people in vulnerable situations. You are calm, stable, and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective in situations that arise in the daily work of a public authority. You have a strong problem-solving ability, can handle complex issues, quickly analyze situations, and make decisions. You have excellent collaboration skills, are attentive, and enjoy working with other professionals, always with the individual in focus. You value and show respect for people's differences.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Interviews will be conducted on an ongoing basis.
We are recruiting without a personal letter in this recruitment to strengthen the focus on the competencies and experiences required for this role. In assessing your application, we will only consider your CV and a number of questions you will be asked to answer when applying for the position. We wish for you to answer concretely and succinctly to the questions, and that there is a clear connection between your answers and your CV. The City of Stockholm works with competency-based recruitment aimed at recognizing each person's competence and thus counteracting discrimination.
