Your new job

You will work closely and continuously to support and develop the citizens. This includes everything from social support to personal care, lifting, medication management, and household tasks where the citizen influences their daily life through participation. You will also work with social documentation, implementation plans, and key worker responsibilities. Together, we identify and create conditions for safety, development, motivation, and good living conditions for each individual. There may be challenging or outwardly aggressive behavior, where we adopt a pedagogical approach based on the individual's needs and abilities. We work with low-arousal responses, visual support, and clarifying pedagogy. In your role, you will create and maintain contact with colleagues, supervisors, healthcare, relatives/guardians, and daily activities.

Your qualifications

For the title of support assistant, a completed upper secondary program in health and care/nursing assistant with a specialization in disability care/psychiatry or child and leisure studies with a focus on social/pedagogical work is required.

For the title of support pedagogue, a post-secondary specialization in the disability field with a pedagogical focus that includes at least 200 YH credits or 60 ECTS or a combination thereof equivalent to at least two semesters of full-time studies is required.

Examples of YH education in the field:

• Support pedagogue (YH various institutions)
• Treatment pedagogue
• Social pedagogue (400 YH credits)
• Activation pedagogue within LSS

Alternatively, you may have other education that the employer deems equivalent.

Experience in the field of disability support is meritorious, preferably with experience working with autism. It is an advantage if you have experience with challenging or outwardly aggressive behavior and low-arousal responses, as well as visual support and sign communication. Furthermore, you must be proficient in Swedish in speech, writing, and reading comprehension, as there will be contacts, documentation, and reading of information related to the work. Digital tools are used, and you are expected to be comfortable handling them.

A B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

Personal competencies and abilities

We see that you are self-sufficient in your work while also being able to work well in a team. It is important that you are stable and secure in yourself, able to meet challenging behavior with calmness. You should also have good pedagogical insight and communicative ability, being clear in your communication. Personal maturity is highly valued as it helps you understand various situations that individuals may find themselves in. Above all, you have a genuine interest in people and are driven to motivate and develop others.

Welcome to us

Markabergvägens group home is an LSS residence for individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, of varying ages and needs. The residence is located in Trånghalla with a beautiful view of Lake Vättern and a lovely garden. Three citizens live here, and we have a cohesive work group of 12 colleagues, mixed gender.

You will work with a wonderful group of citizens who live active lives based on their individual abilities. The staff group is characterized by a friendly and caring perspective that makes both citizens and colleagues feel welcome. We value good cooperation, knowledge exchange, team spirit, and that everyone contributes to a pleasant working environment.

Good to know

The recruitment concerns a permanent full-time position. Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, and every other weekend with a varying schedule. We always offer a 100% employment rate and work with co-planning where work in other activities may occur. Recruitment is conducted with ongoing selection and interviews. An offer of employment in another activity may become relevant.
