Development Officer with a Naval Background
We are looking for you who are an officer with a naval background and want to be part of the development of the technical service at one of the Swedish Armed Forces' largest units.
The Development Unit (UtvE) at the Swedish Armed Forces Technical School (FMTS) conducts development work within logistics and technical services. The development work primarily aims to create future military capabilities within logistics, technical services, and at FMTS combat units. The activities at UtvE are divided into three main areas: recruitment of technical competence, development of concepts, and development of combat units at the type level.
Main Responsibilities
As a development officer, you will be part of a team together with other development officers at the unit. You will participate in various development projects and working groups, where your role is to identify development needs and propose how these needs should be addressed. It is also part of the job for a development officer to be able to lead development projects and working groups.
The position requires the ability to work both independently and in a team. The work includes monitoring the external environment, analytical work, generating ideas and concepts, developing concrete solution proposals, and producing documents and decision support materials. You need to be able to express yourself well in both spoken and written language.
The work as a development officer is dynamic and varied. You are expected to plan and propose how your tasks can best be accomplished. A creative approach and the ability to take initiatives are important for a development officer. The ability to create contacts and collaborations with other parts of the Armed Forces and with authorities and actors outside the Armed Forces is also part of the development work. The position as a development officer at UtvE involves travel and activities both within Sweden and abroad.
As a development officer with a naval focus, you will have a special responsibility to collaborate on the development of the naval base organization and contribute to the unit's knowledge building within the area of technical services for the Navy.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Officer's degree
- Service at naval units
- Good IT skills
- Driver's license B
- Good language skills in Swedish and English

You find it easy to collaborate effectively with others, both within the unit and externally. The position involves conducting business trips, participating in training and exercises in the war organization. Possibility for remote work part of the time.

The Swedish Armed Forces Technical School, FMTS, headquartered in Halmstad, is a logistics unit where technology is at the center. The unit's activities are based on four pillars – development, education, workshop, and combat unit production.
