About the job

So what does QA mean? In other words, the role involves testing and ensuring the quality of products before they are launched to customers. Your task will be to work with developers to ensure the quality of what is delivered. The products are newly developed and may be at different stages of development, where you will be involved in the entire development process. As a tester, you will help adapt the products to the customer's needs by developing and driving testing solutions.

The role of a tester involves a lot of problem-solving, so you will thrive in this role if you enjoy challenges and see solutions instead of problems. An experienced QA tester once said, "If you love coding, then you should become a tester and not a programmer." Therefore, it is important that you find it fun to code a lot in the role of a tester. You will work in a team with testers and developers where you have close collaboration to develop the product.

About the technology

You will work at the system level and test both manually and automatically using both scripted and exploratory methods. The work takes place in both Windows and Linux environments. You have basic knowledge of network technology and are familiar with TCP/IP, Routing & Switching, DNS, Proxy & DHCP. We do not require you to have worked with testing before, but it is great if you have some knowledge of it.

About you

We are looking for someone who has recently graduated from university or college with a bachelor's degree or higher. The exact field of study is not the most important, but it should be related to data & programming to a large extent.

You have a broad technical interest which has contributed to your strong technical competence and a great curiosity to constantly develop and learn more. Curiosity & creativity are two qualities that are encouraged as innovation is one of the company's guiding principles.

Since you will be working closely with your team, it is important that you are a team player. You enjoy collaboration and team spirit and are communicative. You do not hesitate to ask for help from your colleagues or to be the one who contributes to helping others.

About the gig

This is a consulting assignment, or gig as we call it at Gigstep. You will initially be employed by Gigstep with the ambition that it will lead to a permanent position with the client!
