Systems Engineer at FMV

About the position

As a systems engineer within our Armament Materials area, you will work with systems that help the Armed Forces detect and analyze chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats (CBRN) and/or with systems used to secure and analyze traces to create a picture of an opponent's capabilities and capacity (KTSU). You will, among other things, work on writing technical specifications, following up and reviewing suppliers' commitments, and monitoring the technical development in the area. You will also follow up on the material's usage and status, operational reliability, and availability together with users in the Armed Forces. Depending on your experience, the position will focus on the procurement of personal protective equipment, KTSU, or maintenance of materials.

The position is located in Östersund. Travel in the position occurs, both nationally and internationally.

About you

You have a technical post-secondary education, have officer training, or have equivalent competence acquired in another way that we assess as equivalent. You have relevant work experience and have a very good ability to communicate in both spoken and written Swedish and English. In addition, you have good knowledge of the Office suite. The position requires a B driver's license.

We would like you to have experience in project work and be accustomed to participating in investigations, report writing, and analyses. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience or knowledge of requirements specification, procurement, or verification of technical materials. We believe that your skills in either analytical work, systems security, or maintenance support will help you succeed in the role of systems engineer with us. If you also have experience of the user environment for materials within the relevant technical area or systems, that is also an advantage.

You are proactive and have the ability to see and tackle tasks where needed. Furthermore, you are good at independently planning, organizing, and prioritizing your work effectively. We are tasked with providing the Swedish defense with the latest technology and knowledge so that they can defend our country and our allies. Together with competent and committed colleagues, you will be involved in developing and procuring what sometimes does not yet exist. You drive the development, all the way from need to delivery. From idea to reality.

You will work within the Armament Materials area in the CBRN & Home Guard unit, which is responsible for technology and services to the Army and Home Guard. The unit has 17 employees with roles as systems engineers, project managers, and product managers.

The position involves work within CBRN or KTSU. CBRN includes systems for detecting, analyzing, and protecting against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. KTSU involves forensic systems for securing and analyzing traces, which strengthens intelligence capabilities. The unit is also responsible for the development and procurement of remotely operated sensor and functional systems for the Army and Home Guard.
