Hello!

We call it the Uniper Way, our corporate culture. We believe that the path to a sustainable future goes through step-by-step development and change, by setting measurable goals that we achieve together. Do you also believe in a fossil-free future? Join us on our journey. Energy evolution starts with U!

Your role with us

As a maintenance engineer focusing on mechanical systems and associated reactor and safety systems, you will work in what we call the primary systems, i.e., the systems between the reactor and the turbine facility.

Your group’s work includes planning, preparing, executing, and documenting preventive and corrective maintenance. This is done in our joint effort to maintain high safety and operational availability at the facility. The nuclear technology operations require a good safety awareness, the ability to identify risks, and contribute to continuous improvements in the operations. You take great personal responsibility for performing your tasks, work in smaller teams, and collaborate closely with planning and operations.

During our recurring maintenance periods, the role involves ordering and coordinating functions where you ensure that maintenance actions are carried out in a technically and economically optimal way.

What will you work on?

• Preparation of work, which includes, for example, risk assessments, resource planning in our maintenance system IFS.

• Evaluation of maintenance actions and performing trend analyses within your own system responsibility area, documented in report form.

• Initiating replacement needs, participating in developing solutions, and selecting replacement components from a maintenance perspective. This is partly done in project form.

• Participating in contract work with relevant suppliers and driving issues within the area of responsibility.

Your closest team consists of a dedicated team of a team leader, five maintenance engineers, a workshop coordinator, and eight performing maintenance technicians who work to maintain high standards and availability at the facility. We offer an introductory program where you initially shadow to get into the work well. There will also be opportunities to undergo certification training in maintenance.

At OKG, you are surrounded by specialists and colleagues with deep expertise, from whom you can expect both support and great opportunities for learning.

The position includes a few travel days, for example, to suppliers for qualification of spare parts. During more intensive maintenance periods, shorter shifts may occur.

You report to the acting group manager for PMP (mechanical maintenance primary systems) and have Robert Nilsson as a supportive manager who strives for us to succeed together!

Uniper is part of Sweden's critical infrastructure, and our operations are subject to regulations regarding security protection, export control, and nuclear non-proliferation. We will therefore conduct security checks on all our services and supplement with background checks for security-classified positions, in accordance with the Security Protection Act. Uniper is part of critical societal operations in Sweden, which is why this position may be subject to military placement. Any health examination, including drug testing, may also be relevant before employment.

Who we are looking for

Our facility is 40 years old, and we are looking for someone with basic knowledge of mechanics who appreciates the dynamics of working with older technology, takes initiative to develop it, and finds improvements where possible. We work as a team, and the role involves many points of contact, so you need to enjoy this and have good communication and collaboration skills.

Nuclear power operations are complex, and to be successful in the role, we are looking for someone who is attentive, curious, and unpretentious. Of course, safety thinking is paramount – it always comes first!

Requirements:

• Completed education as a university/sea engineer or equivalent within KY/YH with a focus on maintenance, operations, mechanical engineering, or similar.

• Very good knowledge of Swedish and good knowledge of English (spoken, written, comprehension).

Preferred:

• Work experience as a maintenance engineer

• Experience in maintenance in process systems

• Certification in maintenance according to EFNMS requirements

• Experience in developing condition-based maintenance

• Experience working in the maintenance system IFS
