Responsibilities/Assignments

As a unit manager, you will be responsible for the meal services and will continuously work with personnel, finances, quality, and results.

You will manage employees in the unit, except for those working in the production kitchen, where the kitchen manager is responsible for personnel and operations.

Your work will involve both operating at a strategic level within the unit and management as well as planning and driving daily operations. Your responsibility will be to continue the development journey we are on and lead change within your entire area of responsibility.

You will organize and create good conditions for both daily operations and future meal services. You will contribute to a developing and creative work environment where you truly leverage employees' competencies.

The work as a unit manager for meal services is complex as it is a service organization operating within other operations, thus requiring a good understanding of how different processes interconnect. A major challenge beyond daily operations is crisis planning, where meal services play an important role in the municipality's preparations.

Requirements for this position

We are looking for someone with a university degree in nutrition science, dietary studies, or another relevant degree that the employer considers equivalent.

You have experience in managing larger meal/restaurant operations and experience working strategically within meal services, preferably with a focus on quality and cost-effectiveness.

You have a B driver's license and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.

Meritorious

We consider it meritorious if you have previous experience in leading development and change efforts as well as knowledge of meal management in the public sector. Strong communication and organizational skills, where you also create engagement and a positive work environment.

Personal qualities

As a person, you are confident, structured, and have a genuine interest in food and dining experiences. You have the ability to communicate, build relationships, and collaborate as part of your natural leadership style. Since the organization is spread across many units, it is important that the leadership is based on goal management and delegation.

You have a strong strategic ability and a desire to develop a meal organization that puts sustainability and quality at the center.
