The Building and Environment Administration aims to enable a good living environment for residents, visitors, and businesses in a growing Halmstad. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

There is now a unique opportunity to become the unit manager for the health protection unit at the Building and Environment Administration with a total of 20 employees. We offer an exciting managerial assignment where you will play a central role in creating good and healthy living environments for Halmstad's residents! We welcome your application!

In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to work with operational planning and follow-up, as well as collaborate with other unit managers. You will also have personnel and budget responsibilities. You will be the internal support for employees, assist in decision-making processes, and participate in customer meetings for more complex issues. You are expected to be present in the daily work and work proactively with changes in working methods and similar. Contact with the media may also occur.

Your overall responsibilities will include:

• Leading and distributing work within the Health Protection Unit, based on operational responsibility, economic and personnel responsibility
• Monitoring the environment, regulations, and guidelines necessary to conduct operations within applicable frameworks/regulations
• Engaging in strategic collaboration with internal and external parties, forums, and networks
• Being a strategic part of the administration's management team with a shared responsibility for the entire administration's work and delivery

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, we believe you have experience in regulatory authority and supervisory work. You also have experience in personnel, economic, and operational responsibilities. You have a scientific university degree, preferably in environmental and health protection, or other relevant education according to the employer's assessment. Training in environmental law or other legal advanced training is an advantage. We also expect you to have good Swedish skills in both spoken and written form, as well as a B driver's license.

We also consider it advantageous to have experience working in politically governed operations and knowledge and interest in organizational development. If you have formal leadership training, we also see that as an advantage.

You who apply have a good ability to lead and follow up. You point out the direction and show where the unit should go and lead the change work. You plan and organize work realistically and see no problems when planning needs to change. You enjoy creating good relationships and ensure that you gain the trust of your employees. You are good at creating collaborations with employees, the management team, and other municipalities in Halland. You are good at presenting and communicating information, easily identifying what is important in the material and conveying it in a simple and pedagogical way. It is important that you can convey knowledge to the political sphere and communicate successfully outward in various areas.
