Acceptio works to recruit and support foster homes and emergency homes throughout Sweden. We receive placements of children and young people from social services who are in vulnerable situations and need safety, stability, and care. Our operations are based on quality, competence, and continuous support to foster homes to ensure the best possible conditions for children's development.

About the assignment

Being a foster home or emergency home means providing a child with a safe and stable environment when they need it the most. Placements can vary in length and scope depending on the child's needs and the decisions of social services. We operate based on principles of safety, continuity, and development for each child.

Who can become a foster home or emergency home?

We welcome all family constellations – single individuals, couples, families with or without children. The most important thing is that you have a stable living situation, a good ability to create safe relationships, and a willingness to make a difference for children in need of safety and support.

Basic requirements to become a foster home or emergency home:

- Stable and secure living situation.

- Ability to provide the child with their own room.

- Time and commitment to support the child in daily life.

- Good collaboration skills with social services, schools, and other actors.

- No record in criminal, suspicion, or social registers.

- If necessary, be able to be home full-time, especially during emergency placements.

Application process

All applicants undergo a foster home investigation according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's guidelines (BRA-fam). We conduct a thorough assessment of experience, motivation, and capacity to handle a foster home assignment.
