Biomedical Analyst/Laboratory Assistant
Laboratory Medicine Gävleborg is Region Gävleborg's competence and execution organization for the diagnostics of patient samples. Our goal is to be the natural partner in diagnostics and knowledge related to bacteriology, virology, immunology, clinical chemistry, transfusion medicine, pathology, and cytology.
At the unit for clinical pathology and cytology, approximately 45 employees work, and we are proud of our work that contributes to the right diagnostic conditions for patient care. We work with modern technology and are at the forefront of digital diagnostics and automated processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a biomedical analyst/laboratory assistant with us, you will be offered a varied and technically advanced job in an accredited organization. We actively work with task-shifting and offer a dynamic work environment where you can broaden your skills.
As a biomedical analyst/laboratory assistant with us, you will work with:
- sectioning of histological specimens
- various cell staining methods and advanced equipment, such as immunohistochemistry as well as molecular pathology
- immunofluorescence and molecular analyses.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be successful in the role, we see that you are meticulous, responsible, and quality-conscious. You plan and prioritize your work effectively while having a good ability to adapt to changes. Furthermore, you are communicative, attentive, cooperative, and work in a structured manner.
In the role of biomedical analyst/laboratory assistant, you should:
- be a licensed biomedical analyst or have post-secondary education with equivalent competence
- be able to communicate well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
For this position, it is an advantage if you have experience in histopathological laboratory work.
