Specialist Physician in General Medicine

Valbo Health Center is located at Valbo Center and is staffed by around 40 employees. With over 9,400 registered patients, we are one of the largest publicly operated health centers in Gävle. We provide primary care with a medical clinic, district nurse clinic, child healthcare, psychosocial team, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy. Most of our work takes place at the clinic, but we are also responsible for medical services in home care and assisted living. The medical team consists of four permanently employed specialists in general medicine and two resident doctors, providing excellent opportunities for good supervision. We work extensively in a team-based approach in multiprofessional teams, where you as a specialist physician collaborate with other professionals to assess complex patient cases.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a specialist in general medicine, you will work closely with all professions at the health center. Your specialist competence is a crucial prerequisite for our joint mission to support, treat, and guide people towards a healthier life. The role includes supervising our resident doctors and interns as well as district nurses with specialist clinics such as asthma/COPD, diabetes, hypertension, and incontinence.

As a specialist in general medicine with us, you will work with:

• acute appointments
• respiratory clinic
• new patient visits and follow-ups
• gynecology/surgery/rectal
• telephone consultations
• counter-signing (i.e., signing for physician colleagues in their absence).

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is flexible, responsible, solution-oriented, and has good collaboration skills with all professions. We place great importance on personal suitability and value a positive attitude towards both patients and colleagues.

In the role of specialist in general medicine, you should have:

• Swedish medical license
• specialist training in general medicine.

For this position, prior experience in primary care is advantageous.
