ABOUT THE POSITION
Forsmark Nuclear Power Plant is the largest single electricity producer in Sweden, generating one-sixth of the electricity consumed nationally. Forsmark aims to make Sweden fossil-free within a generation. This position is aimed at those looking to build a career in nuclear power and contribute to a fossil-free future.
In this role, you will combine studies with practical work and receive guidance from senior colleagues. You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge in a unique area of expertise within the nuclear power industry. Our ambition is for you to eventually take on the role of radio physicist at Forsmark.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a radio physicist, you will be responsible for the clearance of nuclear waste from operations. You will measure the activity content of radioactive waste for final disposal and waste for clearance. You will ensure that the operations meet established goals and comply with regulatory requirements while keeping updated on developments in the operational areas.
- Conduct gamma spectrometric measurements of solid waste from Forsmark
- Preparation of reports, instructions, and type descriptions for nuclear waste and waste operations
- Participate in the development of measurement techniques and collaborations regarding waste management within Vattenfall
- Provide technical support and assistance in radio physics and clearance within the operations
WE ARE LOOKING FOR YOU WHO
- Has a motivated interest in developing within radio physics
- Has a bachelor's or engineering degree in chemistry, physics, biology, or engineering
- Is fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written, as it is required for communication and documentation

The position is security classified, which means that a security check will be conducted before employment. The security check includes a background check and a security interview in accordance with the Security Protection Act. In addition to the security check, a drug test will be conducted.
