New Opinion Poll from Demoskop: The Sweden Democrats Continue to Advance

The latest opinion poll from Demoskop, dated June 19, 2025, shows interesting shifts in the political landscape. While some parties see a decline in support, others experience an increase that could have significant consequences for future elections.

The Left Party and the Social Democrats: Mixed Developments

The Left Party has increased its support to 7.40% from previously 6.90%. This is a positive development for the party, which has also shown a stable presence around 7-8% in other surveys over the past few months. The Social Democrats, on the other hand, see a decrease to 33.50% from 34.70%. Despite this, they remain the largest party, but the trend indicates a slow but steady decline in support.

The Green Party and the Center Party: Minor Changes

The Green Party has slightly decreased to 6.30% from 6.40%, while the Center Party has dropped to 4.90% from 5.70%. These minor changes can be seen as part of a broader trend where both parties struggle to maintain their relevance in today's political climate.

The Liberals and the Moderates: A Positive Turn

One of the most notable changes is the Liberals' rise to 3.10% from 2.00%. This can be seen as a sign that the party's message is beginning to reach more voters. The Moderates have also increased slightly to 18.20% from 17.90%, continuing their stable presence as one of the leading parties in the opposition.

The Christian Democrats and the Sweden Democrats: Stability and Growth

The Christian Democrats see a slight increase to 4.40% from 4.30%, which shows stability in their voter base. The big winner in this survey, however, is the Sweden Democrats, who have increased their support to 20.50% from 19.60%. This increase reinforces their position as the second-largest party, and their successes in other opinion polls over the past few months indicate steady growth.

Historical Figures and Future Perspectives

Looking back at previous surveys from, for example, SCB and Ipsos, the Sweden Democrats have shown a steady rise, while the Social Democrats have had a more varied trend. This dynamic could play a decisive role in upcoming elections, where issues such as migration and economic policy are expected to dominate the debate.

It remains to be seen how these trends will affect the political landscape in Sweden. With an increasingly polarized electorate and growing partisan differences, the coming months could be crucial for how political parties position themselves ahead of the next election.
