Latest Opinion Polls from Kantar-Sifo: Social Democrats Decline, Center Party Rises

The latest opinion poll from Kantar-Sifo, published today on June 18, 2025, shows interesting changes in Swedish politics. The Social Democrats, who have long been the dominant party, are seeing a decline in support while the Center Party is making a noticeable rise.

Party-Specific Results

The Social Democrats now stand at 34.70%, a decrease from 35.60% in the previous Kantar-Sifo survey. This is a continuation of a downward trend seen in other surveys, such as SCB's from June 5 where they were noted at 36.20%.

The Center Party, on the other hand, is seeing positive development and has increased from 4.80% to 5.90%. This is the largest increase among the parties in this survey and can be seen as a recovery from previously lower figures. In the Novus survey on June 18, they were noted at 5.40%.

Development of Other Parties

The Moderates continue to strengthen their position with a slight increase to 18.60% from previously 18.10%. The Sweden Democrats are also increasing, albeit marginally, from 18.90% to 19.30%. Their results in the Novus survey on the same day, however, show higher support at 20.20%.

The Green Party and the Christian Democrats are seeing a slight decline, with the Green Party dropping from 5.70% to 5.10% and the Christian Democrats from 4.40% to 3.70%. The Liberals continue to struggle with low figures and further decrease to 2.40% from 2.80%.

Stability of the Left Party

The Left Party remains stable at 7.60%, the same figure as in the previous Kantar-Sifo survey. This stable support can be compared with their results in the Novus survey where they were noted slightly lower at 7.40%.

Historical Context and Future Perspectives

Historically, the Social Democrats have often had strong support, but the current trend indicates challenges for the party in maintaining its dominance. The rise of the Center Party may indicate a shift in voter priorities, perhaps towards a more centrist-oriented politics.

It remains to be seen how these changes will affect the political map ahead of upcoming elections. While some parties appear to be stabilizing, others struggle to maintain their relevance in an increasingly dynamic political landscape.
