Latest Poll from Demoskop: Social Democrats Strengthen Their Position

Demoskop has just released its latest opinion poll, and it is clear that the political landscape in Sweden continues to change. The Social Democrats are the big winners this time, while the Moderates continue to lose ground.

Social Democrats and Sweden Democrats on Top

The Social Democrats have increased to 34.70%, up from 33.60% in the previous measurement. This increase confirms the trend from earlier surveys, where the party has been stable over 34% in recent months. The Sweden Democrats have also seen an increase to 19.60%, compared to 18.30% in the last Demoskop survey.

Moderates Continue Downward

The Moderates are facing challenging times with a decrease to 17.90% from previously 20.30%. This is a continuation of the downward trend that has been observed in several institutes, where the party has struggled to reach over 20% in recent months.

Struggle of the Smaller Parties

The Left Party and the Green Party have both seen slight declines, with the Left Party at 6.90% and the Green Party at 6.40%. The Center Party, on the other hand, has increased to 5.70% from 4.80%, which may indicate a recovery after a period of weaker support.

The Liberals continue to struggle with reaching over the parliamentary threshold, now at 2.00%. The Christian Democrats, however, have increased slightly to 4.30% from 3.90%, which can be seen as a small bright spot for the party.

Historical Comparisons

A look at previous opinion polls shows that the Social Democrats have been relatively stable, while the Sweden Democrats and Moderates have varied more. The Sweden Democrats have been between 18% and 20% in several measurements, while the Moderates have shown a clear downward trend.

It is also interesting to note that the Left Party and the Green Party have had fluctuations, but mostly stayed around 6-7%. The Center Party has recently seen an increase, which may indicate increased confidence among voters.

Future Prospects

With these new figures from Demoskop, it is clear that the Social Democrats and the Sweden Democrats continue to dominate the political landscape. The Moderates now need to find strategies to reverse the negative trend, while the smaller parties struggle to maintain their positions and increase their support.

It remains to be seen how these changes will affect the political dynamics going forward, but one thing is certain: the Swedish political landscape is constantly changing.
