Latest Opinion Poll from Indicator: The Moderates on the Rise

The latest opinion poll from Indicator, released today on May 5, 2025, shows interesting changes in the political landscape of Sweden. While some parties see a decline, others are experiencing a rise in support from the electorate.

Current Support for the Parties

According to the new survey, the results are as follows:

  • The Left Party: 7.60% (previously 8.10%)
  • The Social Democrats: 35.40% (previously 36.00%)
  • The Green Party: 5.70% (previously 5.20%)
  • The Center Party: 4.10% (previously 4.20%)
  • The Liberals: 2.80% (previously 3.20%)
  • The Moderates: 21.10% (previously 18.90%)
  • The Christian Democrats: 3.00% (previously 3.40%)
  • The Sweden Democrats: 18.20% (previously 19.20%)

The Moderates' Success

The Moderates are the big winners in this survey, with an increase from 18.90% to 21.10%. This is a significant increase and can be compared with previous surveys, such as Inizio on May 1, 2025, where they were also noted for 21.10%. This indicates a stable rise for the party.

The Social Democrats and The Left Party Lose Ground

The Social Democrats and The Left Party are seeing a decline in opinion support, where the Social Democrats decrease from 36.00% to 35.40% and The Left Party from 8.10% to 7.60%. This could be a cause for concern for the parties, especially considering that the Social Democrats previously had higher figures, such as 36.70% in the Novus survey on April 23, 2025.

The Green Party and The Center Party Stabilize

The Green Party sees a slight increase from 5.20% to 5.70%, which can be seen as a sign of stabilization after previous fluctuations. The Center Party remains relatively stable with a slight decrease from 4.20% to 4.10%.

The Liberals and The Christian Democrats on the Decline

The Liberals and The Christian Democrats continue to struggle with low support. The Liberals have decreased from 3.20% to 2.80%, and The Christian Democrats from 3.40% to 3.00%. These figures could be worrying for the parties and their future strategies.

The Sweden Democrats' Decline

The Sweden Democrats are seeing a decrease in their support from 19.20% to 18.20%. Despite this, they remain one of the larger parties in Sweden, but the downward trend could be a signal for the party to reassess its strategies.

Historical Perspective

Looking back at previous surveys, we see that these changes are not entirely unexpected. For example, in the Demoskop survey on April 24, 2025, the Social Democrats were noted for 33.60% and the Moderates for 20.30%, which shows a trend where the Moderates are slowly but surely increasing their support.

It is clear that the political landscape in Sweden continues to change, and the coming months will be crucial for many parties. How these changes will affect the political climate and future elections remains to be seen.
