New Ipsos Survey Shows Strengthened Support for the Left Bloc

Today's opinion poll from Ipsos indicates significant progress for the left bloc in Swedish politics. The Social Democrats, the Left Party, and the Green Party have all gained support compared to the previous Ipsos survey. At the same time, we see a decline for several parties within the right bloc.

The Social Democrats Reach New Heights

The Social Democrats continue their upward trend and now reach 37.00% in Ipsos's latest measurement, an increase from 34.00% in the previous report. This is the highest figure the party has noted in Ipsos measurements since December 2024, when they were at 31.00%. This increase can be compared with other institutes where the Social Democrats have also shown a positive trend, such as Novus which recently reported 36.70%.

The Left Party and the Green Party Grow

The Left Party has also strengthened and now stands at 9.00%, up from 8.00% in the previous Ipsos survey. This is one of the highest notations for the Left Party over the past year. The Green Party also sees positive development, with an increase to 6.00% from previously 5.00%. This is in line with Kantar-Sifo's latest measurement where the Green Party was noted at 5.90%.

Center Party and Liberals: A Mixed Picture

The Center Party has increased slightly to 5.00% from 4.00%, which is a welcome change for the party that has struggled to reach over the 4%-threshold in several measurements. The Liberals, on the other hand, see a decline to 2.00% from previously 3.00%, which could be worrying for the party as it struggles to retain its place in parliament. This decline is in line with trends from other institutes, like Novus where the Liberals were recently noted at 2.50%.

The Right Bloc: Mixed Developments

The Moderates and the Sweden Democrats have both lost support in the latest Ipsos survey. The Moderates are now at 19.00%, a decrease from 20.00%, while the Sweden Democrats have also dropped one percentage point to 19.00%. The Christian Democrats remain stable at 3.00%.

Historical Comparisons

It is interesting to note that the decline of the right bloc in Ipsos is also reflected in other surveys. For example, in Novus's latest measurement, the Moderates were noted at 19.90% and the Sweden Democrats at 19.20%, which shows a general weakness in the right bloc's support.

Summary

The latest Ipsos survey clearly shows a positive development for the left bloc, led by the Social Democrats. At the same time, several parties within the right bloc struggle to maintain their positions. The coming months will be crucial for how these trends develop ahead of the next election.
