The Social Democrats Continue to Strengthen Their Position in the Latest Opinion Poll

The latest opinion poll from Kantar-Sifo, dated 2025-04-11, shows that the Social Democrats continue to strengthen their position among voters with an increase to 35.50% from the previous 34.20%. This increase of 1.3 percentage points is a significant improvement and can be seen as an indication that the party is regaining confidence after a period of stagnation.

The Left Party and Moderates Follow the Trend

The Left Party also sees a slight increase to 7.70% from previously 7.60%, while the Moderates show a more significant increase to 20.30% from 19.20%. This increase for the Moderates can be seen as a recovery after a period of relative stability in the opinion figures.

The Green Party and the Center Party Lose Ground

The Green Party and the Center Party, on the other hand, have lost support. The Green Party goes down to 5.90% from 6.20%, and the Center drops to 3.60% from 4.20%. These changes may indicate that their policies are not quite reaching voters in the current political context.

Stability Among Smaller Parties

The Liberals remain at their previous 2.80%, which indicates stability in their voter base. The Christian Democrats, however, experience a decrease to 3.40% from 4.40%, which could be a sign that the party needs to reevaluate its strategy to regain lost voters.

The Sweden Democrats and Their Challenges

The Sweden Democrats see a slight decline to 18.70% from 19.10%, which may indicate that they are facing challenges in maintaining their support in a changed political environment. Despite the slight decline, they remain one of the larger parties in Sweden.

Historical Perspective

A look at previous opinion polls shows that the Social Democrats have had an upward trend since the end of 2024, where they were noted at 34.40% according to Novus, and have now reached 35.50%. The Moderates have also shown a steady increase from 19.00% in December 2024 to today's 20.30%. It is also worth noting that the Sweden Democrats have had a somewhat downward trend from peak ratings around 20% in several previous surveys.

It is clear that the political landscape in Sweden continues to change, and it will be interesting to see how the parties adjust their strategies in preparation for future elections. The opinion figures from Kantar-Sifo provide an important insight into the current preferences of voters and may well influence the political game going forward.
