Fresh Opinion Polls from Demoskop: Social Democrats Rise, Moderates Decline

The latest opinion poll from Demoskop, published on March 30, 2025, shows interesting changes in the Swedish political landscape. The Social Democrats continue to strengthen their position while the Moderates are seeing a decline. Here is an in-depth look at the latest figures and what they could mean for the political parties.

Social Democrats and Sweden Democrats at the Top

The Social Democrats have increased to 33.90% from the previous 32.80%, which is a significant rise. This trend is confirmed by other polling institutes like Novus and Ipsos, where the Social Democrats also hold strong at 34.60% and 34.00% respectively. This may suggest continued voter confidence in the party's policies and leadership.

The Sweden Democrats maintain their position as the second-largest party with 19.70%, a slight increase from the previous 19.20%. This reinforces their standing as one of the leading oppositions in Swedish politics.

Decline of the Moderates

The Moderates, on the other hand, have seen a decline to 18.80% from the previous 19.70%. Although they are still one of the larger parties, the trend is downward compared to other institutes like Novus and Ipsos, where they are around 20.00%. This decrease could be due to internal party issues or changes in voter priorities.

Smaller Parties and Their Development

The Left Party has slightly decreased to 7.50% from 8.00%, which is in line with other measurements. The Green Party stands at 6.30%, a small decrease from 6.60%, which may indicate that their environmental policies are not attracting as many voters as before.

The Center Party and the Liberals continue to struggle with low figures, 4.20% and 2.70% respectively. The Christian Democrats, however, have slightly increased to 4.60% from 4.00%, which can be seen as a positive sign for the party.

Historical Comparisons and Future Perspectives

Looking back at previous results, we see that the Social Democrats have had a stable increase since December 2024, where they were at 32.60%. The Moderates, on the other hand, have seen a gradual decrease from the same period. The Sweden Democrats have been relatively stable around 19-20% since the end of 2024.

This latest survey may have significant consequences for political strategy moving forward. Parties must carefully consider their political messages and strategies to attract more voters in upcoming elections.

It remains to be seen how these trends will develop, but one thing is certain: the political arena continues to be dynamic and full of surprises.
