Medical Emergency Department (MAVA) is hiring Nurses

The Medical Emergency Department (MAVA), part of Internal Medicine in Gävle, has 20 beds. Here, acutely ill patients with medical problems are treated. The main diagnoses on the ward include liver cirrhosis, liver failure, heart problems/arrhythmias, intoxications, addiction, diabetes, electrolyte imbalances, as well as patients with other medical issues such as infections, COPD, or reduced general condition. We strive for fast patient flows and short lengths of stay.

Job Responsibilities

At MAVA, work is distributed among nursing teams consisting of a registered nurse and a nursing assistant, who together are responsible for five patients. Night shifts are staffed with two registered nurses and two nursing assistants. In addition to the care teams, we have a receptionist and a care planner.

As a nurse with us, you will, among other things, work with:

• Preparing and administering medication.
• Making rapid assessments to maintain high patient flow.
• Coordinating nursing and medical interventions in close collaboration with nursing assistants, doctors, and paramedical staff.
• Identifying risks and implementing measures based on the nursing process.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is flexible and thrives in an operation where the pace may vary and conditions change quickly. You have good teamwork skills, are attentive in interactions with patients and colleagues, and communicate clearly and professionally. You work in a structured manner, can prioritize your tasks efficiently, and contribute to good teamwork with the patient's best interests at heart.

In the role of a nurse, you must:

• Be a licensed nurse with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare.
• Be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Experience in emergency care or other acute operations is meritorious. We welcome both newly graduated nurses and those with professional experience. You have an interest in emergency care, wish to develop broad and general competence in the field, and appreciate working in a team.
