Assistant Nurse/Skilled Caregiver for SPOT Team in Hudiksvall

The Psychiatry department at Region Gävleborg is in the midst of an exciting transformation journey. We are now expanding our Specialist Psychiatric Nursing Team (SPOT), which is based in Hudiksvall but operates throughout Hälsingland. The team provides acute care during evenings and weekends, working closely with patients as a vital link between outpatient and inpatient care. Our ambition is to provide help and support where the patient is. The work may include suicide risk assessments, crisis management, anxiety management, and supportive conversations.

The SPOT team collaborates with municipalities and other key actors to create a more cohesive support system for the patient.

We are now looking for an assistant nurse/skilled caregiver who wants to help develop the future of psychiatric nursing. Together, we make a difference!

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop working methods and routines that benefit our patients. Your ability to create safety and build strong relationships is a crucial part of the team's work and the patient's well-being.

As a skilled caregiver/assistant nurse with us, you will work with:

  • Home visits and behavioral activation
  • Telephone advice and clinic visits
  • Supportive and motivational conversations
  • Collaboration with other healthcare providers and societal actors, such as the police, ambulance services, social emergency services, and the emergency department, as well as with municipal operations and housing facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

As an assistant nurse/skilled caregiver with us, you will become an important part of an engaged team that is building an operation from the ground up. We are looking for someone who is proactive, sees what needs to be done, and is not afraid to think outside the box. You are creative and dare to try new working methods and approaches, while being self-reliant, enjoying independent responsibility, and tackling new tasks with great commitment. Furthermore, you are structured, detail-oriented, and maintain a holistic perspective. You must be confident in your own psychiatric assessments and able to make decisions based on experience and knowledge within the framework of your profession and our routines.

As a Skilled Caregiver/Assistant Nurse, you must:

  • Be educated as an assistant nurse or skilled caregiver
  • Have extensive experience working in psychiatric care, preferably in both outpatient and inpatient settings
  • Hold a valid Category B driver's license

For this position, experience in mobile psychiatric work, as well as professional experience from regional and municipal psychiatry, is meritorious.

Information about the title "Assistant Nurse"

As of July 1, 2023, "assistant nurse" (undersköterska) became a protected professional title. This means that a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) is required to use the title assistant nurse within healthcare and social care. You can apply for the certificate through the National Board of Health and Welfare. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work within healthcare and social care, but with a different title than assistant nurse. At Region Gävleborg, this means the title in your employment contract will be "care assistant" (omvårdnadsassistent) until your certificate is submitted.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 3-6 months, start date: 2026-10-01 to 2027-04-30.
