Switchboard Operators for our on-call pool!

Are you studying or do you have another main occupation of at least 50%? Are you looking for a meaningful part-time job where your empathy and sense of service make a difference? Randstad is now looking for more dedicated switchboard operators for our on-call pool to support our client in the church sector in Uppsala.

IMPORTANT: Requirement for another main occupation

To be considered for this position, you must be a student or have another main occupation of at least 50% (e.g., another part-time job or self-employment). This is an absolute requirement linked to our collective agreements and needs to be verified during the selection process.

About the assignment

This is a temporary hourly position via Randstad where you work on an as-needed basis and not according to a fixed schedule. The assignment primarily involves covering short-term absences and sick leave for our client, which places high demands on your flexibility:

• You need to be available to step in with short notice when needs arise.
• Many shifts start at 08:00 in the morning. Since needs can arise suddenly, you must be prepared to receive a request the evening before, or in some cases, the same morning. Therefore, it is a great advantage if you live in Uppsala or the surrounding area and can quickly get to the workplace.

Responsibilities

As a switchboard operator, you handle many different types of calls with people in all stages of life. This includes calls regarding everything from baptisms, weddings, and funerals to other general inquiries. Since you are the organization's first point of contact with the outside world, we expect a professional, attentive, and humble approach.

Your main responsibilities include:

• Receiving incoming calls.
• Routing calls to the correct department.
• Maintaining ongoing contact with parish representatives and other internal functions.

To thrive in this role, you are a communicative and empathetic person with a natural ability to quickly switch between calls of very different natures – from joy to deep sorrow. You are motivated by providing the best possible service in a caring and considerate manner.

Since the pressure on the switchboard can be high at times, you must be able to handle the stress that many incoming calls can bring during limited parts of the workday. You are detail-oriented, structured, and enjoy working within clear frameworks.

Qualifications and requirements:

• You are an active student or have another verifiable main occupation of at least 50%.
• Good computer skills.
• Fluent Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Advantageous: Previous experience working as a switchboard operator or receptionist. Previous experience with the telephone systems ACE and Telia Touchpoint.
