The Swedish Forest Agency is looking for you who want to work with supervision of felling notifications. We are seeking two forest consultants for the Mid region as part of strengthening our supervision work according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. You will be stationed at one of the region's districts, see current locations further down in the advertisement. You will work with supervision throughout the entire region and together with case handlers from all districts.

As a forest consultant, you will have a job with varied and stimulating tasks as well as ongoing competence development.

The work includes

You will work with the processing of felling notifications and supervision according to the Forestry Act and the Environmental Code. The tasks are primarily performed at the office, but field work may occur. The work involves contact with forest owners, other actors in forestry, as well as relevant authorities and organizations.

As an employee at the Swedish Forest Agency, you are expected to contribute to the development of our operations.

Depending on your competence, focus, and the needs of the operations, other work may also become relevant. Examples include participating in advisory activities, inventories, various projects, or in our commission-based operations.

The work covers a larger geography than your home district, so longer travel and overnight stays may be necessary on occasion.

Qualifications

You have a university degree in forestry or other natural sciences, or alternatively another relevant education within the field. We would like you to have experience in forest production, forestry nature conservation issues, and knowledge of forest-dwelling species.

Experience in case processing within public administration is meritorious, as are experiences and knowledge of the Environmental Code and the Forestry Act. We value good knowledge in IT/GIS.

We place great importance on your personal qualities. You plan, organize, and prioritize your work well. You are analytical and have the ability to weigh together complex information and drive your cases forward. You are communicative, pedagogical, and can conduct dialogue with landowners, other actors, and stakeholders in the forestry sector in a trusting manner.

A B-driver's license for manual transmission is a requirement.

Our offer to you

We offer two fixed-term positions (360 days) at 100%. Start date is as soon as possible or by agreement.

We apply individual salary setting and flexible working hours. Possibility for remote work agreements exists.

Stationing is at one of our following offices in the Mid region: Nyköping, Örebro, Karlstad, or Västerås. Please state your desired stationing location in your application.
