We are in the midst of the energy transition and we want to accelerate. Fast. Then we can no longer do things the way we always have. Our innovation capacity is being challenged and our district heating operations are currently being developed alongside a new business for us, electricity production. With this, we create a sustainable energy supply for our city and contribute to an efficient energy system for the future and for generations. Now we are looking for someone who wants to drive the work with new and existing technological solutions. To meet future needs, we are strengthening our technical competence - do you want to join us to develop, be developed, and think and do things differently?
Your role
As a Plant Engineer, you work both strategically and operationally to develop, analyze, and improve our facilities and technical systems.
You contribute specialist competence in electricity, automation, and hydropower while driving technical issues in projects and development initiatives. The role involves many contact surfaces and close collaboration with the operations organization, contractors, authorities, and external suppliers.
Main responsibilities:
- Analyze and optimize operation and performance in production facilities and distribution systems
- Develop technical specifications and documentation for procurements and investments, and drive and participate in investment, development, and reinvestment projects

- Contribute to long-term facility development and standardization
- Support operations with specialist competence in electricity, automation, and hydropower
- Coordinate technical issues with suppliers, consultants, and contractors
- Participate in work related to authority requirements, electricity safety, and regulatory compliance
We have just over 30 employees in the heat and electricity production area, which covers production, distribution, and operations support. You will be part of the Operations Support department, which is a support function consisting of seven employees. Operations Support works with fuel purchasing and handling, quality and environmental work, audits, as well as operation/development projects. The location is at Stallbacka Heat Plant.
We are looking for you who have/can
- A university degree in energy, mechanical, electrical, or process engineering, or equivalent relevant education assessed by the employer as equivalent
- Experience from the energy industry, district heating, electricity production, process industry, hydropower, or other technically advanced operations
- Experience as an electricity operations manager or equivalent electrical power competence
- Good technical understanding of production facilities and industrial processes
- Knowledge in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, combustion, and heat transfer
- Experience with technical calculations, reading drawings, and process design
- Good IT skills
- Communicate in both Swedish and English, both written and orally
- Valid driver's license (Category B)
It is meritorious if you have
- Experience with hydropower facilities
- Knowledge in control and regulation technology or industrial automation
- Experience with investment projects or technical project management
- Experience with procurements and contracting issues
- ESA training
- Experience with authority requirements and technical regulations in the energy sector
Your personal qualities
- You are a driving problem solver with analytical ability and a desire to find innovative solutions
- You are structured, receptive, and have a technical focus that helps you navigate complex projects
- You thrive working both independently and together with others
- You have good social and communication skills and create good relationships both internally and externally.
We offer among other things
- A dynamic work environment within the Heat and Electricity Production unit, where you will contribute to future sustainable heat production.
- Opportunity to work with exciting projects during a time of rapid development and change within the energy industry.
- Dedicated colleagues, good opportunities for personal and professional development, and a chance to make a real difference for society.
- A workplace and company that is well-liked by both employees and customers according to regular employee and customer surveys.
- An important job in a developing industry that makes a difference for many people, not least through our significant sustainability and social commitment.
- A medium-sized company where the span between decision and action is short.
Background checks may be conducted based on our socially critical operations.
