Occupational Therapist for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP) – Region Jämtland Härjedalen

Do you want to become part of Region Jämtland Härjedalen – a region to look forward to and grow in? Here, you contribute to development and growth throughout the county and work to offer the best possible service, care, and support for everyone who lives in or visits the region.

We offer a work environment characterized by collaboration, participation, and engagement, where both breadth and specialized expertise are valued. Here, you have the opportunity to develop in your role, whether you are new to the profession or have extensive experience.

We are now welcoming an occupational therapist to Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP). BUP is organizationally part of the "Children and Young Adults" area and serves as a resource for the entire Region Jämtland Härjedalen, located in Östersund at Köpmangatan 24. The unit consists of approximately 120 employees who, based on a team-based interdisciplinary approach, work to identify, prevent, alleviate, and treat mental health issues in children and adolescents aged 0–17. As an employee at BUP, you are offered internal supervision and individual planning for competence development. BUP is co-located with Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation, Adult Rehabilitation, and Parent and Child Health Services.

BUP has a total of 12 teams, where you, as an occupational therapist, are primarily based at the medical clinic. The work is cross-organizational, meaning you will collaborate with other teams/professions. At the medical clinic, you will find nurses, doctors, and dietitians. The team has created a good structure through joint morning meetings, team meetings, and rounds. Collegial support is important as the workday and pace can be high at times; the team has a wonderful and pleasant camaraderie where shared breaks are prioritized. Since BUP is located next to the bathhouse park, there are great opportunities to enjoy lunch in a sun lounger or take an ice skating trip at Medvinden during the winter.

Job Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities are to conduct supervisory/consultative interventions for the various teams at BUP, as well as provide training to other staff. You will conduct group activities and education for patients and relatives. Individual patient work is primarily directed towards children and adolescents with ADHD. Examples of tasks include in-depth activity assessment, assistive device assessment and prescription, home environment adaptations, and recommendations requiring individual assessment.

You are the sole occupational therapist at the unit but participate in professional meetings for occupational therapists at Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation, which is located in the same building and within the same operational area. The goal is to be able to offer certain group interventions in collaboration with occupational therapists at Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation, as well as in cooperation with other professions at BUP. We offer a personal mentor from both employees at BUP and an experienced occupational therapist at Child and Adolescent Rehabilitation.

Qualifications

  • Licensed occupational therapist.
  • Experience with occupational therapy interventions/treatment work regarding issues within BUP's target group of children/adolescents and/or families.
  • Experience working within child and adolescent psychiatry or other experience with neuropsychiatric disabilities.
  • Treatment work with children/adolescents and/or families.

We are looking for someone who wants to creatively contribute to developing our operations. You should enjoy leading group interventions and training, both internally and externally. Great importance is placed on personal suitability, where we value engagement, teamwork, and flexibility. The work involves high demands on the ability to create structure, both for your own planning and in collaboration with colleagues. Communication and responsibility regarding your own tasks and the ability to manage the boundary with colleagues' tasks are central to the operation.

Employment type: Permanent position.

At Region Jämtland Härjedalen, our work is guided by our core values: we create value for those we serve, act with initiative, and strive to always be perceived as reliable. Here, you have the opportunity to work in an organization where these values shape daily life and where your work truly makes a difference.

As an employee, you have access to a wide range of benefits through our benefits portal. We care about your health and offer a fitness allowance or fitness hours. At Östersund Hospital, you can also train for free at the Zefyren gym and participate in instructor-led sessions.

As an applicant, you must provide an extract from the criminal record register in connection with a job offer.

We have an established recruitment process and therefore politely but firmly decline contact with advertising salespeople or other sellers of recruitment services.

We look forward to receiving your application!
