About American High School, Uppsala

The school is centrally located in the Luthagen area. In the autumn, the school will enter its fifth academic year and will then have approximately 220 students studying on the Natural Science, Economics, or Social Science programs. The teaching is conducted in both English and Swedish by a competent teaching team with a strong sense of community.

About the Role

As a teacher, you will teach our students Italian. You will be responsible for planning, conducting, assessing, and evaluating your own teaching. You are expected to lead the lessons based on our pedagogical structure, for which you will receive guidance. You will work closely with an engaged and cohesive teaching team, where collaboration and collegial learning are a natural part of everyday life. You will teach in a digital environment with digital learning materials in combination with traditional literature.

The position is a permanent part-time employment at 30%, starting with a probationary period of 6 months. Start date August 3, 2026, or as agreed.

Your Profile

For the position, a Swedish teaching license is required, as well as eligibility to teach Italian at the upper secondary level. It is also highly meritorious if you have experience of teaching at the upper secondary level. You have a strong commitment to teaching and want to contribute to developing the operations together with a strong team of employees, and you share our pedagogical view:
