Are you passionate about swimming instruction, leadership, and operational development? We are now looking for a Head of Swimming School on a full-time fixed-term basis for the autumn term of 2026. For the right candidate, there is an opportunity for extension. In this role, you are responsible for planning, quality, and the daily operations of our largest activity branch.

Founded in 1796, Upsala Simsällskap is the world's oldest swimming club. Every week, we meet hundreds of children and young people in our activities, and the swimming school is the foundation for their continued journey in the sport. The role of Head of Swimming School
As the Head of Swimming School, you are responsible for the daily operations, planning, and development of the club's swimming school activities. You lead our swimming instructors and volunteer leaders and ensure that the activity maintains high quality according to Swedish Swimming's guidelines.
You work both administratively and operationally by the poolside. The role gives you great opportunities to influence the continued development of the swimming school, and you collaborate closely with the Club Manager, Head Coach, and other activity managers.
The position includes, among other things:
- Leading and developing the swimming school activities
- Planning groups, schedules, and staffing
- Recruiting, introducing, and supporting swimming instructors and leaders
- Monitoring quality and activity goals
- Contributing to budget work and financial follow-up
- Being responsible for administration and communication with guardians
The work is primarily carried out at Uppsala Simarena, with some activities at Fyrishov and Gottsunda, and covers daytime, evenings, and some weekends depending on the needs of the activity.
Employment
The position is a full-time (100%) fixed-term appointment during the autumn term of 2026, with a start date in August or as agreed. The employment runs until December 18, 2026, and is paid a monthly salary. A large part of the working hours are scheduled for evenings, nights, and weekends. For the right person, there are good opportunities for extension. Collective agreement with Arbetsgivaralliansen, industry agreement for sports.

To succeed in the role, we believe you:
- have experience in swimming instruction or training
- have experience in leadership
- are structured, solution-oriented, and pedagogical
- have good organizational and collaboration skills
- communicate well with children, guardians, and colleagues
- express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing
Experience in club activities, operational development, administration, coach education, and training within Swedish Swimming is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
