We are now looking for more substitutes for the summer of 2026! As a summer substitute in elderly care in Bergs Municipality, you will become an important piece of the puzzle in supporting and serving our elderly citizens. The role of a substitute is very important to ensure that our operations run 24/7, all year round. Together with your colleagues, you will have a meaningful job with high flexibility, and there is an opportunity to combine work in nursing homes with home care or local cleaning services.

We offer a summer bonus for those who work at least 75% for at least 8 weeks.

Job Responsibilities

As an hourly substitute in elderly care in Berg, you will be employed at the respective unit. The work as an hourly substitute includes care and social support based on a salutogenic approach. This means that you help people who live in our special housing or live at home in their own residences. With examples such as: dressing, preparing meals, serving, hygiene, and cleaning. Tasks delegated by licensed healthcare personnel may also be relevant, for example, administering medication. Collaboration is a very important part of your work, as you, together with many other colleagues, share responsibility for the interventions granted to each individual.

And now we are looking for more substitutes for our operations, we hope you apply and become our new colleague!

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

The need for substitutes exists at several of our units, and we therefore welcome you regardless of whether you have previous education or experience in care and support. If you are a nurse assistant or have previous experience working as a care aide, we see this as positive but not necessary! The most important thing for us is you as a person, above all that you are efficient and professional in your approach to work, as well as being good at communicating and having an easy time collaborating. To be eligible as a substitute in care and support, you must be at least 18 years old and be able to express yourself and understand Swedish well in speech and writing. The ability to work evenings and weekends during part of your time is a requirement. We consider it an advantage if you have education and/or previous experience in elderly care.

Bergs Municipality is a Sami administrative municipality, and we therefore consider it an advantage if you have knowledge of South Sami language and culture.

The Recruitment Process

We work with an electronic substitute procurement system, Time Pool, which means that you must have access to the internet for us to be able to offer you work. You are responsible for entering the times you can work and responding to inquiries as soon as possible. Being a substitute may mean that the need for work can change quickly.

We will review your application and get back to you as soon as possible. If we assess that your application is interesting, you will be contacted by us to schedule an interview. The interview may be conducted remotely via Microsoft Teams. Otherwise, feedback will be sent via email. For questions about the recruitment process, you are welcome to contact our administrators, whose contact details are listed below via our switchboard.

What We Offer

A varied and flexible job with either hourly or monthly employment where you get to make a difference for others – every day!

If you are monthly employed and have worked at least 75% for at least 8 weeks during the vacation period, you will also receive a summer bonus of 10,000 SEK (before tax) provided these criteria are met. The work is available both day and night shifts, and you can work either day and evening shifts or night shifts.

Selection may take place continuously during the advertising period, so do not wait too long to send your application.
