Ward 33 is part of the surgical clinic in Växjö. Our main focus is on patients within vascular surgery and urology, but we also receive patients within general surgery, trauma, breast, and endocrine surgery. We provide care both before and after surgery, and meet patients who come for acute or planned surgical procedures.

The ward has 12 care beds and close collaboration between nurses, assistant nurses, and doctors. The group is mixed – some are new to the profession, others have long experience. We learn from each other and help each other in everyday life.

The role includes among other things:

  • Planning and coordinating care together with doctors, assistant nurses, and paramedics

  • Documenting in the medical record systems Cosmic and Nova Ward
  • Collaborating with other healthcare providers, for example other departments at the hospital and home care

We place great importance on listening to the patients. Both what they say and what their values show, for example via NEWS. You use both conversation and medical data to assess, support, and provide the right care at the right time.

Introduction and Support

To make you feel secure in your role, we offer a well-planned introduction, adapted to your needs and experiences. It contains different moments and regular reflections together with supervisors and managers. You become part of a warm and supportive group where it is perfectly okay to ask questions. There are no stupid questions here. We help each other, share knowledge, and ensure that you get a good start.
