Description

Do you want to ensure that our water and wastewater operations have accurate, accessible, and quality-assured electrical documentation? We are now looking for a meticulous and engaged Information Manager who wants to take responsibility for developing and managing our documentation processes within the electrical field.

The Water & Wastewater Department ensures that residents of Karlstad have clean tap water and a secure sewage system every day – a socially vital mission that is constantly evolving. The position is located within the Technology & Utilities unit, where we, together with 16 dedicated colleagues, are responsible for electricity, automation, and maintenance of the municipality’s drinking water and wastewater facilities. We are at the forefront of technology and have a strong team where knowledge sharing, development, and job satisfaction are at the core.

From January 1, 2027, the water and wastewater operations will become part of Karlstadsregionens Vatten, which means exciting opportunities to contribute to the development of future working methods and information management within a larger utility organization.

Job Responsibilities

As an Information Manager, you will play a key role in creating and maintaining structure, order, and quality in our technical documentation for electricity and automation.

Your main responsibilities include:

  • Receiving, quality-assuring, and managing technical documentation
  • Coordinating handover documents and document deliveries
  • Archiving and distributing documents
  • Developing procedures, working methods, and guidelines
  • Developing information structures and document management systems
  • Supporting operations with questions regarding technical documentation and facility data

You will work closely with our electrical engineers, electrical and instrumentation technicians, as well as project managers. You will also collaborate with the department’s other information managers to ensure that our facility data is accurate, relevant, secure, and accessible.

The role entails significant independent responsibility and suits you if you thrive working autonomously, taking initiative, and developing your area of responsibility over the long term.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have at least a technical upper secondary education or a vocational higher education (YH), preferably with a focus on electricity, automation, and professional experience in the field.

You have good system proficiency and experience working systematically with technical information, documentation, or facility data. We would like you to be accustomed to interpreting technical drawings and documentation.

Experience from the electrical and automation field is highly meritorious. If you are familiar with reading electrical diagrams, circuit schematics, or other technical documentation in this area, it is a particular advantage. It is also meritorious if you have worked with CAD environments, document control, information management, or document management systems. Experience with Ides Master Concept, HxGN EAM, or similar systems is also a plus.

As a person, you are structured, meticulous, and self-driven. You enjoy creating order, taking initiative, and driving improvements over time. To succeed in this role, you need to be collaborative while also being comfortable independently managing and developing your area of responsibility.

A valid driver’s license (Category B) is required.

Selection and interviews will take place continuously throughout the recruitment period.

As part of the recruitment process, a background check will be conducted for the final candidate.
