Envac is a global leader in vacuum waste collection – we move waste underground through closed, automated piping systems to create smarter cities. As a Project Designer at Envac Sweden AB, you combine technical design and 3D modeling with a deep understanding of the entire construction process. We are looking for you who want to work in an environmentally driven culture characterized by technical engineering spirit, rationality, and long-term thinking.

About the Role

The role of Project Designer focuses primarily on technical problem-solving, system design, and three-dimensional modeling. Your task is to draw and integrate our systems into buildings and urban districts, where you translate complex requirements into functional and concrete systems.

Responsibilities

In your daily work, you will:

  • Design and dimension the system: Draw in and adapt Envac’s equipment (chutes, piping networks, fan terminals, separators, and containers) to real spaces. You handle basic dimensioning of flows, waste volumes, slopes, and pipe dimensions adapted for residential buildings or other properties.
  • Design throughout all project phases: Work in phases from early investigations, concepts, and layout proposals to detailed construction documents and as-built drawings. You read and interpret architectural, structural, site, and installation drawings, and are responsible for ongoing version control and drawing revisions.
  • Coordinate and resolve interface issues: Integrate Envac’s systems with other disciplines. You take into account space, accessibility, noise, and fire safety requirements, and participate in design and coordination meetings to resolve clashes in the drawings (e.g., regarding excavation, penetrations, and routing of water, electricity, and ventilation).
  • Document and support sales projects: Create simple technical descriptions and specifications. You also support the sales organization in early stages with sketches, and evaluate how your design choices affect the system’s long-term investment and operating costs as well as the competitiveness of the bid.
  • Conduct technical reviews: Be able to explain and justify the chosen design functionally to architects and clients, and ensure practical constructability through dialogue with contractors and installers.

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for you who have a good technical foundation and the right personal qualities to grow in the role.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong skills in REVIT, which is our primary design tool.
  • Experience or knowledge in BIM.
  • Some familiarity with AutoCAD (used to handle older facilities).
  • Basic knowledge of – or interest in learning – the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning’s building regulations (BBR), occupational safety regulations (ATEX), and municipal environmental requirements.

  • Detail-oriented and structured: You have an eye for detail because small errors in a drawing can have major consequences on the construction site. You take personal responsibility for the quality of your work.
  • Problem-solver: You thrive when finding solutions when spaces are limited or when conditions change late in a project.
  • Collaborative: You work well with salespeople, project managers, and external parties. You are open to input but can also argue for technically correct solutions.
  • Learner: You have the drive to stay updated on our products and want to benefit from lessons learned from previous projects.
