About the Position

We are currently looking for a Social Secretary (Social Worker) for the Adult Unit due to parental leave. Here, you will have the opportunity to work with people in difficult life situations and be part of their path toward change.

At the Adult Unit, we work with adults who need support regarding harmful substance use, addiction, and domestic violence. We also handle matters concerning financial assistance and social contracts, making the work both broad and meaningful.

We have organized the work within the unit into different functions to ensure clarity and coordination, including reception, handling of financial assistance, and specialized roles in domestic violence and adult addiction support. The specific area you will work in is not predetermined but will be decided based on operational needs and your competence. Regardless of placement, you will be a vital part of our team.

Responsibilities

As a Social Secretary at the Adult Unit, you will have a varied and developmental role where you meet people with respect, empathy, and commitment. Your tasks include:

• Conducting investigations and making decisions according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Care of Abusers Act (LVM).
• Following up on interventions and collaborating closely with other municipal departments, such as the Employment Unit, Adult Education, Outpatient Psychiatry, Child and Youth Services, and healthcare providers.
• Maintaining close contact with clients, offering support, guidance, and motivational work.
• Contributing to safety and stability through counseling and concrete measures.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a Social Worker (Socialsekreterare/Socionom) or have another academic education that the employer deems equivalent. Most importantly, you must have a genuine interest in people. You should be confident in your professional role, easy to collaborate with, and comfortable working both independently and in teams. Experience in authority work within the adult sector is an advantage, but personal suitability and the right attitude are paramount.
