Join us in building our new unit for intensive assessment and outpatient care

Do you want to be part of creating a business that makes a real difference for children and families? We are now looking for committed and competent therapists/assessors for Villa Viken, a new unit starting in the autumn of 2026.

Villa Viken is an initiative within the social services' outpatient care, focusing on intensive child and family assessments. Here, structured assessment work is combined with therapeutic interventions in a calm, secure, and home-like environment. As an employee, you will have a unique opportunity to be there from the start and contribute to shaping the content, working methods, and culture of the operation.

About Villa Viken

Villa Viken is a facility where children and families have the opportunity to meet in an environment that differs from a traditional office. The home-like environment creates good conditions for observing the interaction between children and parents in everyday situations and provides a broader basis for professional assessments.

Our goal is to contribute to the social services receiving a well-founded basis for decision-making through structured and legally secure assessments, where the child's needs and best interests are always in focus. We work with respect for the family's integrity and with an approach characterized by participation, transparency, and a clear child's perspective.

Job Description

As a therapist/assessor, you will work with intensive child and family assessments commissioned by the social services' authority functions. The work consists of planning and conducting assessments, observing interactions between children and parents, holding individual and family conversations, and analyzing and documenting your observations and assessments.

The assessments are primarily conducted in Villa Viken's home-like environment and are tailored to each family's individual needs and the questions posed by the assignment. The work requires a structured approach, good analytical skills, and professional conduct.

The position also includes some family therapy. The therapeutic interventions aim to strengthen the family's own resources, develop the interaction between children and parents, and create sustainable changes. Marte Meo is one of the methods used in the operation, along with other evidence-based approaches.

You will work in close collaboration with colleagues, social secretaries, and other actors around the child, such as preschool, school, and healthcare.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker or have another university education that the employer considers equivalent.

You have experience in social work with children, young people, and families and feel confident in meeting people in vulnerable life situations. If you have experience with child and family assessments, family therapy, or work within the social services, it is meritorious.

We would like you to have knowledge of child development, attachment, and interaction, as well as experience working with structured observation and assessment methods. Education in or experience with Marte Meo is meritorious, as is further education in family therapy or systemic work.

To thrive with us, you need to be secure in your professional role and able to create trusting relationships with both children and adults. You have good analytical skills, work in a structured manner, and find it easy to collaborate with others. At the same time, you are self-reliant and take responsibility for driving your work forward.

Since Villa Viken is a newly started operation, we are looking for you who appreciate development work and want to be involved in creating routines, working methods, and an operational culture characterized by quality, collaboration, and innovation.
