The Food and Premises Maintenance Unit belongs to the Child and Education Administration. The administration has approximately 800 employees. The administration's operations extend across the entire municipality and include preschools, primary schools (grades F-9), adapted primary schools, after-school centers, food services and premises maintenance, mother tongue instruction, and library services.

Approximately 80 employees work at the Food Unit. The unit handles food in preschools, schools, special housing, and meal boxes for home care services. The municipality has 38 production and reception kitchens where a total of approximately 3,500 portions are produced every day.

Blomstergården in central Krokom is a special housing facility with a preparation kitchen where approximately 40 portions are produced per meal (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), as well as approximately 60 meal portions for residents receiving home meal delivery. The kitchen team at Blomstergården consists of a lead cook, an assistant lead cook, and two kitchen assistants.

A day as a cook with lead responsibilities at Blomstergården

You are responsible for daily operations, ensuring food is handled safely, conducting self-inspections, and ensuring that the kitchen and equipment are handled according to current guidelines. It is important that you contribute to and work for a good working environment and that your colleagues feel included.

The role requires good administrative skills. The operations are run with an economic mindset, including placing supply orders and paying invoices.

Your qualifications

We are looking for you who have completed a 3-year upper secondary education in hospitality and catering, or have equivalent experience in similar tasks.

Requirements for good Swedish language skills in speech and writing.

Good computer skills are meritorious.

As a person, you are flexible, independent, meticulous, and positive. You cooperate easily and have a solution-focused approach to work. With a strong service spirit, great engagement, and good communication, you always put the diner at the center.

Other information

Temporarily placed as a cook with lead responsibilities in the kitchen at Blomstergården in central Krokom, at 100% until 2027-08-31. Thereafter, the employment will transition to a position as a cook within the municipality's Food Unit.

Start date by agreement. Working hours are during daytime, weekdays, and weekends.
