The Disability Care department in Umeå Municipality aims to be a resource that empowers and strengthens people's ability to live independent lives through proximity and interaction.
Ordinary housing is organized within the Disability Care department, offering short-term supervision, short-term accommodation, respite services, home help, and a national upper secondary school for children and young people. We also provide day activities/occupational programs, supported housing, and dependency resource teams for adults over 18.
Byttgränd Short-Term Accommodation is located in Ersboda and serves children and young adults with disabilities based on decisions under the LSS (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments). We offer a respite function for relatives, contributing to a sustainable and long-term support structure for both the individual and the family. At our facility, the individual's needs and conditions are at the center, and we offer a safe, stimulating, and developmental environment. Nearby facilities include playgrounds, forest areas, and a library, enabling varied leisure activities and outdoor time.
