About the position

At the turn of the year 2026/2027, the completely new housing facility Wadköping's Special Housing will open, which is part of the health quarter Wadköping. There, we will start a Finnish-speaking department, and you will have an important role in shaping how the work should function, both regarding routines and new ways of working. Together with colleagues with similar backgrounds, you will contribute valuable insights into Finnish traditions and culture to create a safe and homely department.

As a nursing assistant, you will have a coordinating responsibility where you plan, perform, and follow up on daily work. You work in a team together with colleagues with different competencies, and we always focus on the individual's specific needs and interests. We work with a rehabilitative approach and person-centered care where the tenant's needs, wishes, and abilities determine the goals of rehabilitation.

Examples of tasks:

• Perform care tasks and, based on delegation, certain medication management.
• Perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
• Plan and develop work independently and together with the work group.
• Collaborate with relatives and others in the tenant's network such as nurses, occupational therapists, and other actors, e.g., the region.
• Regularly document in the operation's documentation system and review existing documentation.
• Create and follow up on implementation plans.
• Have knowledge of and follow the operation's current laws, policies, and routines.

About the workplace

Wadköping's health quarter is located on Öster in central Örebro, near Stadsparken. There will be several different operations cooperating in the health quarter. Move-in will take place at the turn of the year 2026/2027.

In December 2026, Södermalmshemmet will move to the newly opened Wadköping's Special Housing. Södermalmshemmet is located in central Örebro and is the largest special housing facility in Örebro Municipality with 108 places distributed across 12 groups. In each group, 9 care staff work.

Area Care and Social Care is part of the Social Administration. The operation covers care and social services, preventive activities, authority activities in the area, as well as housing placement and housing adaptation. Within the Area of Care and Social Care, we work to support and help people who need care, support, or social services in their daily lives.

Qualifications

As a nursing assistant with us, you are a secure and stable person. You have the ability to meet tenants in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your interaction. You cooperate well with other people and relate to them in a listening and flexible way. Furthermore, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and see opportunities in changes. Since the work involves digital documentation in operation systems, good computer skills are required. You master the Finnish and Swedish languages so that you can communicate with tenants and other staff, as well as document in writing what the operation requires.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Certificate of protected professional title, or alternatively covered by transitional rules (permanent nursing assistant on July 1, 2023).
• Good knowledge of the Finnish language.

Merits:

• Experience working in documentation and operation systems such as Lifecare.
• Experience in care contact.

Working hours: Scheduled day, evening, and every other weekend

Other information

From July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title. This means you will need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to be employed as a nursing assistant. While waiting for your certificate, it is possible to be employed as a care assistant. If you had a permanent employment as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, you may continue to use the title.
