The Opportunity

We are looking for an Industrial Electrician to join Hitachi Energy and our business unit consisting of Surge Arresters and Capacitors.

At the Surge Arresters unit in Ludvika, we produce and sell surge arresters. New products are developed here, and the markets are located both in Sweden and in other parts of the world. An arrester protects against overvoltages and is an essential part of a reliable and energy-efficient power system. At the Capacitors unit, we assemble customer-specific medium and high-voltage capacitors for reactive power compensation and harmonic filtering, as well as manufacturing DC capacitors for HVDC applications worldwide. Both operations have a high degree of automation with numerous robots, winding machines, electrical testing, process furnaces, fixtures, etc., and we produce around the clock in several shifts.

The role is based in Ludvika and is a day-time position.

How you will make an impact

  • Be responsible for both reactive and preventive maintenance of electrical and control systems.
  • Continuously work on finding improvements in the process and identify and implement both short-term and long-term measures.
  • Collaborate closely with production as well as external suppliers.
  • Participate in initiatives aimed at maintaining and improving equipment reliability and efficiency. Contribute to and drive the company's push for Smart Maintenance through active work with database-based maintenance systems.
  • You share Hitachi Energy's core values regarding safety and integrity, which means you take responsibility for your own actions while also feeling responsible for your colleagues and the business operations.

Your background

  • You have a high school education with a focus on electricity or equivalent qualifications. Additional training in automation is meritorious.
  • We expect you to have a few years of experience working as an electrician, along with good ability and experience in reading and understanding electrical schematics.
  • We see that you thrive working both independently and in a team, and have a positive attitude towards the tasks you undertake.
  • You will work according to high quality standards; therefore, it is important that you are quality-conscious, safety-conscious, and responsible.
  • You must also be communicative in both Swedish and English, with the ability to share your knowledge with the rest of the organization.
  • As a person, we see that you are solution-oriented, flexible, and receptive. To succeed in the job, you need to be results-focused and comfortable in a production environment.

What we offer

  • Collective agreement
  • Flexible working hours
  • Corporate health care and fitness allowance
  • Excellent career opportunities within Hitachi Energy in Sweden as well as globally
  • Training and courses that contribute to personal and professional development
  • A diversified company with over 70 nationalities represented within the Swedish organization
  • Supplementary benefits during parental leave
  • Benefits portal with over a thousand benefits and discounts
