Workplace Description
The work group consists of autopsy technicians, doctors, and other teaching assistants. Clinical autopsy activities, specifically the determination of cause of death, are performed at this workplace. We are currently seeking 13 teaching assistants for positions at 8.33% capacity for a period of four months, starting September 1, 2026. The workplace for the teaching assistant position is locally located at the Department of Autopsy, Baravägen 39 in Lund.

Job Responsibilities
As a teaching assistant, you work with determining the cause of death and investigating diseases and other changes. Your tasks within the role may vary, but you must be enrolled as a student at the faculty where the work is conducted, and the tasks should provide insight into the academic world.
The current position involves practically demonstrating how an autopsy is performed, from organ extraction to dissection down to the detail level. In addition, an assessment of the findings and a synthesis are required so that adequate conclusions about disease progression and causes of death can be drawn.
After the teaching session, the teaching assistant, in consultation with the responsible doctor, shall formulate a statement that clearly and adequately reports the findings made.
Material must also have been collected for microscopic analysis - also in agreement with the responsible doctor.
The working hours will be during daytime.
Qualifications
Requirements for the employment are:
- You are actively studying on the medical program at the Faculty of Medicine in Lund
- You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
- You have passed the course in pathology
- Good teamwork skills
- Good communication skills
Merits for the employment include:
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant
Other Information
The employment is fixed-term at 8.33% for 4 months with a desired start date of September 1, 2026, or as agreed.
The employment must not negatively affect the teaching assistant's studies and cannot be combined with other employments. Regulations concerning educational employment as a teaching assistant can be found in the Higher Education Ordinance (SFS 2017:284), Chapter 5, Sections 8-12.
The employment is covered by the collective agreement on working hours for teachers.
