Make a difference. Every day.
Are you a physiotherapist interested in working within palliative care? This could be the opportunity for you. One of our physiotherapists will be on leave, and we are now looking for a replacement for at least one year, with the possibility of extension.
The primary goal of palliative care is to relieve physical pain and support when the disease is incurable, as well as to offer psychological, social, and existential support to the patient and their relatives. The purpose of the care is to help the patient achieve the best possible quality of life at the end of life, without hastening or postponing death.
Do you have a naturally empathetic approach and a genuine commitment to the patient's well-being? Do you thrive in a work environment where collaboration, participation, and a good climate are highly valued? Then you might be our new colleague! Here you will have the opportunity to work with the patient at the center, both in their own home environment and on the palliative care ward. You will be part of a competent and cohesive team. Together, we create security, relief, and quality of life during one of life's most vulnerable phases.
The operation is organizationally part of "Close Care and Health," Mobile Teams, and Specialized Palliative Care, Southwestern Scania. Advanced Home Healthcare (ASIH) and the palliative care ward provide specialized palliative care. The operation is under constant construction and development, and the two units work closely together. ASIH consists mainly of three teams targeting registered patients, but there is also an outpatient team and a consultation team. The palliative care ward is an inpatient unit providing advanced care at the end of life.
The patient's needs dictate the visits, and we work both independently and in teams. Our interdisciplinary team consists of doctors, nurses, social workers, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, assistant nurses, dietitians, and medical secretaries.
The joint rehabilitation team currently consists of three occupational therapists, three physiotherapists, and three social workers. We are looking for you who are interested in a placement both at ASIH and the palliative care ward in Malmö, where you will be placed in one of the ASIH teams with patients registered in their homes, but with part of the position based at the ward.

Job Responsibilities
We offer a developing and stimulating job where you become part of our growing interdisciplinary teams. The physiotherapist's tasks and areas of responsibility in palliative care include traditional physiotherapy duties but primarily focus on interventions that are meaningful and enhance quality of life. You work in the patient's home and on the palliative care ward. The goal is often short-term with a focus on here-and-now experiences. The physiotherapist also serves as a resource for other staff and relatives in conveying a palliative rehabilitative perspective.
Working in palliative care and ASIH means working preventively, providing individual care, and contributing to creating security in difficult life situations. Symptom relief and support are provided to patients in the final stages of life, where all ages and diagnoses are present. Furthermore, we act as support for relatives during the care period, which plays a central role in daily work. To ensure you have the best conditions in your role, we offer a thorough introduction together with both a physiotherapist and the rest of the team. We also offer continuous supervision with an external, qualified supervisor.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a licensed physiotherapist with the eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare, preferably with a few years of professional experience. Proficiency in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. Since the operation consists of care sites both on the palliative care ward and in the patient's own home, a valid B-driver's license for a manual transmission car is a requirement for the position.
You who apply are confident in your professional role and have the patient in focus, which means you have the ability to see the patient as an individual and their needs. Furthermore, you have a flexible approach and can prioritize between different tasks when the work pace is high. To thrive with us, you need to be able to work independently and make your own decisions. We see that you gladly share your knowledge and cheerful demeanor to create a good work climate. We value a positive basic attitude and the willingness to participate in our development work. Since you will become an important employee in our operation, we place great emphasis on good collaboration skills and personal suitability.
In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection. We warmly welcome your application today!
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, Start date: As agreed.
