Building and maintaining roads and infrastructure is a big task. Contributing to societal development is even bigger. With us, you get to do both. We are now looking for an experienced paving worker for the Industry division and our laying operations in Södertälje. At Svevia, we combine the camaraderie and team spirit of a small company with the stability of a large corporation. Here you have the opportunity to develop as a road specialist – with commitment, collaboration, and responsibility.
Your role as a paving worker/screed operator
As a paving worker with us, you will be involved in both large and small paving projects. Our clients include the Swedish Transport Administration, municipalities, private customers, and other operations within Svevia. Since the size and nature of the projects vary, the tasks are diverse and offer opportunities for professional development. You will be part of a work team that carries out paving works according to given orders and existing regulations. You are responsible for maintaining vehicles and technical equipment in good condition, handling materials, measuring equipment, and other technical gear to ensure the final product meets the customer's quality requirements.
This position is based in Södertälje. Some work will be performed during unsocial hours.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone with at least two years of experience in paving work who enjoys working outdoors on roads. You should have experience as a screed operator or working on the auger. A Category B driver's license is a requirement for this role.
To succeed as a paving worker, you need to be a team player who shows respect, supports, and cares for your colleagues. We view the work team as central to achieving success and delivering results, so your ability to collaborate is extremely important. You keep the customer's wishes in focus and work methodically to ensure our product maintains high and consistent quality.
At Svevia, we apply individual salary setting for blue-collar workers and have an agreement on annual working hours. This means you primarily work during our season from April to December and are on leave during January to March, provided you have met your annual working hours during the season. We offer a wellness allowance of 5,000 SEK per year. We are happy to tell you more about this during an interview.
Part of something bigger
Svevia's industry division is in an expansion phase, and the ambitions are high. The goal is to be a leading player in paving in Sweden.
Behind every road lies more than just the visible surface: an entire industry of knowledge and delivery capability. Our offering is an industrial process. From stone to finished road.
It all starts with a quarry, which then becomes aggregate, which in turn is used in the production of asphalt, which is finally laid on the road. With over 100 own rock quarries, own production of asphalt, bitumen emulsion, and thermoplastic, we have a breadth that no one else matches. In our laboratories, we conduct material analyses and ensure that products meet standards and requirements. And our skilled teams in milling, asphalt laying, tank coating, and road marking ensure the delivery is complete.
Why Svevia?
With us, you quickly become one of the group, and we pride ourselves on being a workplace for everyone. Decision-making paths are short, and it is easy to make your voice heard. At the same time, you become part of a practical reality and a company where concrete results are created with steaming asphalt machines, large snowplows, and tons of rebar and concrete. With your professional knowledge, you can make a difference on the road. And we always put safety first – both with care for your own working environment and the safety of others.
For those who want to take the next step in their development, there are many opportunities. Whether you want to deepen your expertise in your specific area or move into a supervisory position.
Together, we make cities and countryside function. Do you want to share the road with us?
