The mission of the Education and Labour Market Administration is to increase individuals' prospects of finding employment and becoming self-sufficient through education, internships, and work.

The Labour Market and Social Services department is responsible for the planning, implementation, and coordination of the municipality's labour market initiatives, as well as the processing of financial assistance. The overarching mission is to support residents in achieving self-sufficiency and participating in society.

Your responsibilities

We are recruiting young people for various departments within Halmstad Municipality. In your application, please specify which areas you are interested in and attach your CV. If you are invited to an interview, we will provide more details about the different assignments.

You can choose between the following work areas:

Childcare

You will work alongside staff in preschools, schools, or leisure centres. Tasks may include supporting children and students in their daily routines, participating in activities, and assisting during breaks and lessons.

Parks and Property Maintenance

You will work with basic maintenance of parks and outdoor areas, as well as some simpler property-related tasks.

Service Area – Kitchen

You will work in the kitchen preparing simple meals, assisting with preparations, washing dishes, and performing other service tasks that contribute to smooth operations.

Social Care

You will work in elderly care homes or group housing, contributing to a meaningful daily life for residents. Tasks may include social interaction, support during meals, and simpler practical chores.

Selection and interviews are conducted by the youth job coordinators. If offered a position, you will also meet the workplace before your placement.

Your qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

  • graduated from upper secondary school in 2025 or 2026, or
  • has discontinued their studies and is covered by the Municipal Activity Responsibility (KAA).

You must also have good knowledge of Swedish to communicate effectively in the workplace.

We believe you are engaged, responsible, and enjoy collaborating with others. Previous work experience is not required – the most important thing is that you want to learn and contribute.
