About the role

For over 50 years, Södra has worked on cultivating new generations of forests. At our nurseries, we lay the foundation for tomorrow's forests, from seed to sapling, adapted to southern Swedish conditions.

To Södra's nursery in Gödastorp, we are now looking for a Production Manager who wants to help develop both people and operations close to nature.

What you will work with at Södra

In the role of Production Manager, you will have the opportunity to take a holistic approach to the operations. You plan the cultivation and lead and develop your employees in their daily work.

At the nursery, employees work with planting, irrigation, fertilization, weeding, as well as sorting, treatment, and packing of seedlings. The work is carried out both manually and with the help of agricultural machinery.

As Production Manager, you will among other things:

  • ensure a safe and secure working environment with a strong focus on health and safety
  • plan and direct production based on season, needs, and resource availability, together with coordinators
  • lead and distribute daily work
  • drive improvement work, investments, and development of working methods
  • follow up on budget, results, and production goals
  • have personnel responsibility for approximately 30 employees

You work closely with engaged and knowledgeable employees at the nursery and have ongoing collaboration with your fellow production managers in Falkenberg and at our nursery in Flåboda.

The position is a temporary assignment of approximately 12 months, located at Södra's nursery in Gödastorp, Falkenberg.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for you who thrive in an operation where nature's conditions set the rhythm and where planning, structure, and flexibility need to go hand in hand. You are a present and clear leader who creates engagement and involvement in your team.

To succeed, you need:

  • to have a genuine interest in cultivation or forestry operations
  • to be confident in your leadership and have the ability to coach and develop employees
  • to be able to plan, prioritize, and make decisions in an operation with clear seasonal variations
  • to work structured while remaining flexible when conditions change

We also see that you have experience with:

  • leadership in a relevant environment (preferably within agriculture or forestry)
  • production planning, staffing, and follow-up
  • systematic work environment work
  • driving improvement and development work

You have relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience, good knowledge of Swedish and English, and a B driver's license.

Join us in building a sustainable society

Södra is one of the country's largest forest industry companies and is jointly owned by more than 50,000 family forest owners in southern Sweden. In addition to developing forestry, we strive to always use the forest raw material in the most efficient and climate-smart way. Paper pulp, timber, textile pulp, and bioproducts are just a few examples. By working together, we have the strength, engagement, and courage required to build a sustainable society. This happens with our feet on the ground, our ear to the outside world, and our gaze forward.
