Job Description

We are now looking for an Outdoor Maintenance Worker for the Outdoor Life unit. Come and make Gävle even better with us! In this role, you will work outdoors in beautiful and nature-rich environments, while being part of a dedicated team with a common goal: to develop and care for our outdoor areas.

The work is varied and flexible, meaning no two days are alike – perfect for you who thrive in a dynamic and practical role.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance and care of: Jogging trails, hiking paths, ski tracks, ski slope, Gävle Guest Harbor, natural harbors, and Hemlingby outdoor area.
• Performing tasks such as: brush clearing, snow clearing, sanding, carpentry, and painting of outdoor facilities.
• Animal care: horses, sheep, rabbits, and chickens.
• Mentoring and supporting individuals in labor market measures working in the outdoor areas.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a practical background and experience working in operations and outdoor life. You are accustomed to taking responsibility, hold a B-driver's license, and thrive in a role where you work independently while also supporting others in their development. If you also have experience in maintenance work, animal husbandry, or relevant certifications, we view this as a merit.

To succeed in the role, you have:

• Upper secondary education with a practical focus or equivalent professional experience deemed relevant by the employer.
• Experience working as operational staff in outdoor areas.
• B-driver's license and experience driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
• Experience mentoring and supporting individuals in labor market measures.
• Merits include qualifications for operating all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, tractors, and chainsaws/motocross saws, as well as training as a Class 8 vessel commander.
