The Technical Division operates independently and consists of five business areas: Municipal Properties, Nyköping Water, Waste Management, Street/Park/Harbor, and Meal Service. These are supported by an economics department, a project department, and an administrative staff. Approximately 400 employees work in the division, which has an annual turnover of over 1 billion SEK. Our clients are the Municipal Executive Board, the Environment and Urban Planning Committee, and the Culture and Leisure Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES

At Meal Service, you will have the opportunity to be part of the journey towards Sweden's best public meal service!

Here you prepare meals for the world's most important diners: children, young people, and the elderly. You contribute to serving delicious, sustainable, and healthy meals every day, following the diet policy and Meal Service guidelines. You work based on good kitchen economics where high quality and the diner are in focus.

At Meal Service, you work daytime hours and have the opportunity for competence development through internal training in food hygiene, special diets and allergies, environmentally smart food, and much more. Your responsibilities include:

• Staffing various kitchens as needed
• Cooking and serving meals
• Daily meetings with diners
• Daily reporting
• Handling kitchen machinery
• Dishwashing, cleaning, preparation of salads and snacks
• Planning and purchasing (may occur)
• Following the routines set by the meal program

You will work both independently and in a team.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply have:

• Chef training or experience that the employer deems equivalent
• Good knowledge of Swedish regarding speech, writing, and reading comprehension (as you handle special diets, recipes, etc.)
• Good computer skills

We view it positively if you have:

• Experience working in restaurants, large kitchens, or similar
• Driver's license and access to a car
• Experience with meals in public operations

You are a person with a positive attitude who puts quality and the diner at the center. You have a good ability to work flexibly and independently but have no problem collaborating closely with a team. To thrive in this role, you need to be able to handle a high work pace, be solution-oriented, and have a positive attitude towards development and changes.
