Within the Department Fighter Instructions For Continued Airworthiness at BU Gripen, we work on developing the maintenance system, both regarding new development and maintaining our various Gripen systems. We also support our Gripen users with technical support in close collaboration with the rest of the development organization.

The role of Area Manager for ILS Design E/F includes both personnel and operational responsibility. You are responsible for an area with approximately 80 employees, where your role involves managerial responsibility over 5 section managers. Your role entails having overall responsibility for the business unit's commitments, with the primary task of providing the prerequisites for a functioning maintenance system so that our Gripen E customers can operate their aircraft. As Area Manager, you are part of the Department Fighter Instructions For Continued Airworthiness management group, which covers the development and management of the maintenance system for Gripen C/D & E/F, as well as technical support to our customers.

Your Profile

We believe that to fit the role, you need:

• Several years of documented experience in management roles with personnel, operational, and budget responsibility.
• Experience in leading managers or leading through other leaders in a large organization.
• Good ability to work both strategically and operationally and to translate overarching goals into results in the business.
• Experience in developing business, driving change and improvement work, and creating engagement in the organization.
• Experience in steering and following up on business based on goals, economy, quality, and delivery.
• Be a secure and clear leader who creates prerequisites for your subordinate managers to succeed in their assignments.
• Good collaboration skills and the ability to build strong relationships both within your own organization and with other parts of the business.
• Good communication skills and the ability to represent the business in various forums.

The position requires that you undergo and are approved according to current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, citizenship requirements may apply in certain cases.
