About the unit
1st Marine Base Battalion is one of the Marine Base's standing combat units. The task of the marine base battalions is to provide logistical support to marine units both from land and at sea, both in daily operations in the permanent base and at temporarily established bases. The unit trains soldiers and sailors in logistics, ground combat, escort, reconnaissance, communications, and technical service. To lead the battalion, there is a battalion staff that can deploy concealed in terrain or quarters, maintaining command capabilities. The battalion can deploy collectively or dispersed over large areas. Here, technology is needed that allows for both robustness and flexibility. The command platoon of 1st Marine Base Battalion establishes and serves the command post for the battalion staff. We support the battalion's command with communications to the Marine Staff, but also to our own companies and side units on land and at sea. The communication must always work, year-round, 24/7, in all weather conditions. Currently, we are in a period of significant growth, and we are continuously receiving and training with new systems. Therefore, we can offer you ongoing professional development with new systems and training. Your competence is part of our capability enhancement.
Main tasks
- Train and educate the platoon's soldiers
- Support the command platoon commander in solving tasks
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Completed professional officer education with a focus on command with a passing grade
- Category B driver's license
- Approved physical fitness according to FMFysS
Personal attributes
As a person, you can take initiative, handle working both independently and in various group constellations, sometimes under long-term strain. You are trustworthy, meticulous, and a good ambassador for the Swedish Armed Forces, while also having a structured work approach and taking responsibility for your tasks. It is important to you to maintain good health and an interest in maintaining your physical and mental capabilities. You have an interest in technology and possess a good security mindset. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous service in a command platoon or radio link platoon
- Previous service as a ship communications officer
- Military driving license for heavy trucks and personnel terrain vehicles

The overarching task of the Marine Base is to support the marine units with, among other things, logistics in the form of transport, basing, security, and healthcare, both domestically and abroad. The Marine Base has its headquarters in Karlskrona, but operates where there is a need, for example in Berga/Muskö, south of Stockholm, and in Gothenburg. Other major tasks for the Marine Base include monitoring Sweden's 2,700 km long coast with territorial waters.
