The Swedish Fortification Administration is in an expansion phase with several new initiatives and projects. Our clients have a growing need for practical solutions, faster deliveries, and high quality in execution. Therefore, we are now looking for several experienced project managers who want to contribute to the development of future facilities and strengthen Sweden's defense capability.

Your daily life as a Project Manager

The Project Department is responsible for the Swedish Fortification Administration's building and infrastructure investments. The department consists of staff and support units as well as several operational units and currently has approximately 140 employees, of whom about 90 are project managers. The department is growing continuously in line with our clients' needs.

The current unit is responsible for projects in the Mid Sweden region. Our operations are located in several places within the region, and the workplace is in Stockholm. Currently, we are located in temporary premises in central Stockholm.

As a construction project manager, you lead complex building and infrastructure projects from early stages to completed facilities. You are responsible for translating goals and needs into concrete project plans and ensuring that projects are carried out with the right quality, within given time and cost frameworks.

Responsibilities

As a project manager, you independently lead investment projects in construction and infrastructure. The projects are complex and consist of both renovation and new construction, underground and/or above ground.

The role includes:

  • Leading and coordinating building and infrastructure projects from early stages to completed facilities
  • Being responsible for the project's time, cost, quality, environment, and function
  • Participating in the procurement of consultants and contractors
  • Being responsible for customer and authority contacts and acting as the client representative
  • Coordinating various stakeholders and ensuring progress in projects
  • Contributing to the development of working methods and processes within the project operations

Travel within the Mid Sweden region occurs in the role.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of experience in independently leading investment projects in the construction and property industry
  • University or college degree in rock engineering, energy technology, civil engineering, building technology, road and water, or equivalent. Alternatively, other education considered equivalent at the university level.
  • Experience of responsibility for time, cost, quality, environment, and function
  • Experience from municipalities, authorities, construction companies, consultants, or contractors
  • Knowledge of cost assessment and bid calculation
  • Knowledge of contract law as well as LOU (Public Procurement Act) and/or LUF (Public Procurement for Defense)
  • Leadership experience
  • Good administrative IT skills
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish, spoken and written
  • High security awareness
  • Category B driver's license

Meritorious

  • Fortification education or knowledge in fortification technology
  • Knowledge of security protection
  • Experience of work within defense, total defense, or defense authorities
  • Experience of fortification and physical protection of buildings and facilities
  • Experience as project manager/technical responsible in projects focusing on rock engineering

About the employment

The position is a permanent employment and may start with a probationary period. As a permanent employee, you will be placed on war footing. The location is Stockholm. Employment with us requires Swedish citizenship and involves placement in a security class. Security investigation with register check will be conducted before employment in accordance with Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
