About the workplace

Norrhälsinge Rescue Service works for a safe and secure municipality. The assignments vary and can range from fires and traffic accidents to providing first aid.

We have six stations manned by on-call firefighters: Hudiksvall, Iggesund, Delsbo, Friggesund, Jättendal, and Hassela. As an on-call firefighter, you usually have a regular job with another employer. When the alarm sounds, you respond from the station you are assigned to.

Are you our next part-time firefighter? We are looking for someone with great commitment who can be available for emergency response for part of their time. Our rescue teams often encounter complex situations, and to ensure we have the broadest possible competence, we are looking for people with different experiences and backgrounds.

We are looking for someone who works well in a team, is stress-resistant, and practical. You have a high degree of personal maturity. You are self-motivated, flexible, and resilient in challenging circumstances. It is also important that you are good at communicating with people and are service-oriented.

The schedule varies, but the basis is that you are on call every fourth week. During that week, you respond when the alarm sounds, whether you are at home or at work. In the event of an alarm, you must be able to leave the fire station within eight minutes of the alarm being raised. The number of responses varies between different locations.

No prior knowledge is required; you will receive the training and practice you need from us. First, you will undergo a basic training course of five weeks (GRIB 1) with us, followed by GRIB 2, which is run by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) as soon as possible after completing GRIB 1.

You will regularly participate in internal training and exercises. Most exercise sessions are scheduled at your local station in the evenings, as well as a full-day exercise in the spring and autumn. You receive pay from us during all training and exercises.

The person selected for the position must be medically approved by our occupational health service to be employed.

Requirements:

• Passing the roller test conducted at the fire station in Hudiksvall before the test day. Time for the roller test is booked by calling 0650-380 11.
• Swimming ability
• Good physical fitness
• Category B driver's license (Category C is an advantage)
• You live and work within a maximum of 8 minutes from the rescue station
• Approval from your main employer to work as an on-call firefighter

Admission tests and interviews are planned for week 37, 2026.
