Water is our most important food source, and a secure water supply is crucial for Gotland's future. Within the Water and Waste department, we work every day to ensure a safe and sustainable water and wastewater supply for the Gotland Water and Wastewater Collective.

We are responsible for the development, renewal, and operation of facilities such as water intakes, water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, pipe networks, landfills, and recycling centers. In total, we have approximately 130 employees working together for Gotland's sustainable development.

We are now looking for a SCADA Engineer to join the Planning and Development Unit (PUV) located in Visby. The unit is responsible for the planning and design of both new facilities and the renewal of water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and pressure boosting stations. We also drive projects that form the basis for strategic decisions in Region Gotland's current and future water and wastewater supply.

The role also includes work related to Gotland's water intakes, such as water protection areas and permit processes for water abstraction. The unit is also responsible for the development and expansion of control, regulation, and monitoring systems within the water and wastewater operations.

Here, you will work in an organization with high competence, great engagement, and a culture where collaboration and responsibility are in focus. We offer meaningful work where you contribute to socially vital infrastructure. As an employee, you will also enjoy benefits such as a fitness hour, fitness allowance, and flexible working hours agreement.

Your Responsibilities

As a SCADA Engineer, you are responsible for the development, management, and optimization of our overarching control systems. The role combines technical specialist work with the strategic development of the systems' architecture and functionality.

You develop and configure the SCADA system's structure, process graphics, alarm management, trends, and reports, and work on standardizing functions and methods. The work also includes integration with PLCs, RTUs, databases, and external systems, as well as communication solutions and network protocols.

You contribute to high operational reliability through robust design, redundancy, and cybersecurity work. The role also includes testing, commissioning, upgrades, and troubleshooting during operational disruptions. You create technical guidelines and documentation and participate in the long-term development of the control environment.

The work is carried out in close collaboration with water and wastewater engineers, IT specialists, operations teams, and external suppliers.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who have an academic engineering degree or equivalent in automation, electrical engineering, or a similar field, and experience with SCADA systems and system integration. A Class B driver's license is required, and you must have good command of Swedish in both speech and writing.

It is an advantage if you have knowledge of PLC programming, communication protocols, and processes from water and wastewater operations or process industry. Experience with cybersecurity in socially vital operations is also valuable.

As a person, you are structured, analytical, and responsible. You work methodically with quality, testing, and documentation and have a strong focus on operational reliability and long-term solutions. You collaborate well and communicate clearly with both technical specialists and the business.

Selection may begin before the application deadline.
